This week’s update is very restaurant focused with new locations, new menu items and specials, patio openings and more. The pollen has died down, so it is time to linger on a choice restaurant’s patio with some tasty gluten-free cuisine.
Gusto! Woodfire Grill is opening a second location on Ponce de Leon across the street from Ponce City Market this summer. Gusto!’s menu is very gluten-free and vegetarian friendly with salads, rice bowls and more waiting to be customized to your liking. They offers affordable cuisine made with fresh ingredients that is served up quick.
FIGO Pasta is planning to open a new location near Georgia State on Peachtree Street near Broad Street in the lobby level of the recently renovated historic Flatiron Building. FIGO is opening in the space formerly occupied by Tin Drum Asiacafe. FIGO offers gluten-free pasta, pasta sauces, and salads with daily specials. The new FIGO to expected to open by mid-summer. Sugo Restaurant is the only place in town to get handmade gluten-free pasta that is prepared taking precautions to prevent cross contact. They make gluten-free agnolotti (think half moon ravioli) with a changing variety of imported Italian cheeses: ie tallagio, Pecorino gran cru, goats milk ricotta and more. This pasta is made daily by a retired chef from Old Rome in Italy who can’t speak English, but his pasta says it all. If you want lasagna, order it a day in advance, so they can make fresh pasta sheets.
Chef Woody Back serves up simple, seasonal, Southern cuisine with a paleo twist every Wednesday at Table & Main. The paleo diet consists mainly of meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, eggs, and gluten-free grains. April’s paleo menu offers: April 20 | Ribs smoked baby back ribs, braised baby collards, spiced carrots,

Make a reservation at this hot spot in Roswell and enjoy a tasty gluten-free and paleo meal that is full of flavor minus all dairy and wheat.
Target is now carrying Vermont Smoke & Cure’s new mini meat sticks in two flavors – uncured pepperoni turkey sticks and cracked pepper beef and pork sticks. One ‘On The Go Pack’ comes with six sticks and retails for $4.99. The new snack size sticks were created specifically for the Target launch and will be available solely at Target for a period of time. These sticks are great for travel and snacks on the go, so stock up and enjoy.
Tin Drum Asiacafe has closed its Kennesaw location in Barrett Creek Plaza shopping center on Ernest Barrett Parkway.
The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill in Roswell will start serving lunch daily on April 18th. Only the highest quality seafood and locally sourced ingredients can be found on a seafood-forward menu. Gluten-free options are marked on the menu and include the citrus seafood Cobb salad with chilled shrimp,blue crab and Meyer lemon vinaigrette.
Venkman’s patio, located by the front entrance, opened on April 12 and can easily seat up to forty four guests at four-tops and picnic tables for large and small parties. The patio will be open for regular service hours, happy hour, and full service. Venkman’s happy hour runs Tuesday through Friday from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. So many of their menu items are marked gluten free, while others can be modified by leaving off bread, etc. The avocado cucumber salad is a personal favorite.
