Viewers will watch UNC vs. Virginia live stream online and televised 2016 NCAA basketball coverage on Saturday evening as two of the ACC’s best clash on the court. Both teams are ranked within the Top 10, making it that much more meaningful, as a win by either could catapult them into the discussion of being a No. 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament. The Cavaliers are the No. 3 team in the nation and will try to grab the huge home win while the No. 7 Tar Heels will try for the road upset to continue their stay at the top of the ACC standings. The 2016 NCAA basketball live streaming and televised game will be presented to fans thanks to ESPN networks on Saturday.
According to CBS Sports in a Feb. 26 game preview, Virginia comes into tonight’s game having won 18-straight at their home arena, including 33 of their last 34 against conference foes. A win by the Cavaliers keeps them alive for the conference title, which would be their third straight should they end up winning it. The matchup presents an interesting battle between the best offense in the conference from the Tar Heels, versus the best defense from the ACC from the Cavaliers. Right now, Virginia (10-5 ACC) is No. 3 in the nation in terms of how many points they allow opponents, holding them to an average of just 59.7 per game. A packed home arena will certainly provide them the extra incentive to clamp down defensively on a UNC team that they’ll play just this once in the regular season. They’re also looking to bounce back from this past week’s loss at No. 12 Miami, 64-61.
Carolina enters the game having a 12-3 record and leading the conference above Miami (FL) and Louisville. Virginia, Duke and Notre Dame are right around the third or fourth place spot, each with records of 10-5. Wins for UNC will give them more distance at the top as Miami and Louisville are a game each behind them. A win for Virginia makes things even more interesting and clutters up the conference picture heading towards the ACC Tournament. However, Carolina comes in having defeated their recent mutual opponent Miami in a home rout 96-71. They also rank No. 10 in the nation in scoring with 83.8 points scored per games, making this quite the battle to witness on Saturday night.
The odds makers believe Virginia should be the home favorite, giving them four points on the spread heading towards game time. On the moneyline, Virginia is priced as a -175 favorite, with the Tar Heels as +155 underdogs. Tonight’s over/under points total is around 138 points for the game at most books. When it comes to winning the National Championship, both teams are ranked high on the future odds list at Vegas Insider. UNC, with odds of 8 to 1 to win it all, is second only to Michigan State on the list. Virginia is a 16 to 1 favorite to win it all, ranking them at No. 8 overall.
