Have you been looking forward to One Spark 2016 as much as we have? Are you a creator whose idea is ready to be shared? Then now is the time to submit your application for the One Spark Creator Showcase. The deadline is fast approaching and there are a few slots left. Please go to OneSpark.com, by Feb. 29 at 5 p.m. to be considered for exhibition at the First Wednesday Spark Walk on April 6. There is NO COST to apply.
What’s it all about? Well, if you have a unique, innovative, or creative idea that you are looking to demonstrate and present to 35,000 people in a single day, what better opportunity is there to gain market validation or get valuable feedback for your idea? Do you need a jump-start on your future customer/donor list? Do you have a project that will fill a need or solve a problem waiting to be solved; are there important products and services currently not offered or is your solution BETTER? Would you like the opportunity to sell your unique products and services? Would you like to network with other Creators? Could your idea or business use additional publicity? Are you looking to promote your crowd-fund campaign? Are you very close to needing a capital investment in your business?
If you or someone you know can answer ‘YES!’ to any of the questions above, then you need to apply to the One Spark Creator Showcase at the First Wednesday Spark Walk. Spark Walk will celebrate the creative energy of Northeast Florida’s creators, innovators, entrepreneurs, and champions of meaningful social and cultural projects, by hosting and championing YOU.
Again, the application is free. If the One Spark jury accepts your project into Spark Walk, registration is only $50. The top 120 Creators will be selected to participate in the daylong public event on Wednesday, April 6 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Downtown Jacksonville. The event is the collaboration between One Spark, Inc. and DVI, the producers of First Wednesday Art Walk. The event will span 15 blocks, and it includes the Creator Showcase, the First Wednesday Art Walk artists, performances, and venues, The Jacksonville Landing’s Front Porch activities, along with music stages, dynamic and eclectic food trucks and beverage offerings.
Creators are encouraged to crowd-fund on platforms of their choosing, or sell approved products and services, or even collect donations. Creators without a current crowd-fund can set up one through One Spark’s Indiegogo partnership at OneSpark.com.
Of the Creators chosen to participate, One Spark Ventures will also pre-select the top projects and invite those Creators to participate in a One Spark Venture Spark Tank event on Thursday, April 7. This private event will allow the selected Creators to pitch their ideas in front of capital and angel investors for validation, feedback and guidance. The group of investors may decide, based on the presentation, to award the top Creator with a One Spark Ventures seat in the upcoming PS27 Ventures Academy/Accelerator Program.
Those interested in sharing their ideas at the April 6 Spark Walk may visit OneSpark.com to apply no later than Monday, Feb. 29. Any Creator who previously applied for One Spark must reapply to be considered. Previously collected application fees will be returned in full. Creators will be selected to participate in Spark Walk and notified by March 15, with a $50 registration fee due by March 18. So, it’s time to get your idea registered.
