The final week of the 2015 NFL regular season is here. Here is a list of the betting odds and lines plus all the over/unders for all the games being played this week in Week 17 of the 2015 NFL season.
Bettors must take into account this week that many of the NFL games being played this week have no playoff implications so wager on those games at your own risk. In many of the games with playoff implications teams are playing for home field advantage only and historically that has not been a great motivator for players or teams.
There are no Thursday or Monday night games this week. All NFL games will be played on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Good luck to all the players and teams this week and especially to all the bettors in Week 17 of the NFL season!
- New York Jets -3 at Buffalo (O/U is 43)
There is a lot on the line in this game as the Jets need to win to make the playoffs playing against last year’s coach Rex Ryan. You know Ryan would love to beat the Jets here but can he do it? If the price is right Buffalo is worth a shot this week.
- Patriots -9 at Miami (O/U is 47.5)
The Patriots already have a bye locked up and are only playing for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. That might not be enough motivation to be giving out nine points vs the Dolphins this week in Miami.
- Steelers -10 at Browns (O/U is 47.5)
What happened to the Steelers last week vs the woeful Ravens? Now they need help from the Buffalo Bills to make the playoffs. Be surprised if the Steelers don’t clobber the Browns this week. Johnny Manziel might get benched again this week for partying.
- Ravens +7.5 at Bengals (O/U is 42.5)
The Ravens played hard last week and beat the Steelers. No reason to think they won’t play hard again this week vs the Bengals. The players obviously respect John Harbaugh which is more than can be said for teams like the Giants and their coach.
- Jaguars +6.5 at Texans (O/U is 45.5)
If the Texans win this game they are in the playoffs but they are almost in even if they lose because the Colts would need about nine games to go their way for them to beat out the Texans. Brian Hoyer will be the Texans QB if he’s cleared to play and if he does play the Texans should have no problem winning this game.
- Titans +6 at Colts (O/U is N/A)
There’s no over/under for this game because it’s uncertain who will be the QB for either of these two teams this week. Hard to bet an NFL game without knowing who the QB will be for each team.
- Redskins +3 at Cowboys (O/U is N/A)
The Redskins keep saying they are not going to rest any players this week in a meaningless game vs the Cowboys but obviously the odds makers do not believe them. The Cowboys are favored in this meaningless game by a field goal.
- Saints +4 at Falcons (O/U is 52)
The Falcons beat the undefeated Panthers last week in a great effort but will they bring that same level of intensity to this meaningless game vs the Saints? Drew Brees always loves to pad his stats in meaningless games and he’ll look to do that this week if he’s healthy.
- Eagles +3 at New York Giants (O/U is 52)
How badly did the New York Giants quit last week vs the Vikings after they were eliminated from the playoffs the day before? The Giants players have no respect for Tom Coughlin. Do the Eagles players have any respect for Chip Kelly? We’ll find out this week in another meaningless game.
- Lions +1 at Bears (O/U is 45)
If the Lions players bother to show up in this game they might be a decent underdog bet. This game is why it’s so hard to bet meaningless NFL games during the last week of the season.
- Seahawks +4.5 at Arizona (O/U is 47.5)
Arizona has said they will not rest starters this week and it looks like the odds makers believe them. Seattle has said the same thing but the Seahawks are 4.5 point underdogs this week. The Cardinals are still alive for home field advantage in the playoffs.
- Buccaneers +10.5 at Carolina (O/U is 46.5)
The Panthers are also playing for home field advantage this week. They were playing for the same thing last week and they still lost to the Falcons. Home field advantage just doesn’t motivate players and teams much in the NFL.
- Raiders +6.5 at Chiefs (O/U is 43)
The Chiefs have now won nine straight games and they are 6.5 point favorites to beat the Raiders this week to make it 10 straight. The Chiefs can win the AFC West if they win this week and the Broncos lose.
- Chargers +8.5 at Broncos (O/U is 41)
The Broncos clinched a playoff spot last week but they can still lose the division this week if the Chargers beat them and the Chiefs beat the Raiders. Will that be enough to motivate the Broncos this week?
- Rams -3.5 at 49ers (O/U is 37)
The Rams are favored by 3.5 points to beat the 49ers this week on the road. Why anybody would want to bet on a team with Blaine Gabbert as the QB is a mystery as Gabbert is now 7-27 as a NFL starting quarterback.
- Vikings +3 at Packers (O/U is 46.5)
The Vikings and Packers are dueling it out this week for the NFC North division title but both teams already have a playoff spot clinched. As a fan of either team would you rather win this week and face Seattle at home next week in the playoffs or lose this game and play the Redskins on the road in Washington? Those are the most likely scenarios for the outcome of this game.
