The NFL season has only two weeks to go before the playoffs start and, as always, the season has flown by. Here is a list of the betting odds and lines plus the over/unders for all the NFL games in Week 16 of the 2015 season.
All NFL bettors this week should keep in mind that historically teams and players in the NFL do not play hard for home field advantage. That is not always true but it’s true more than enough times that bettors should factor it into their wagers this week. There’s another Saturday night NFL game this week.
Good luck to all the NFL teams, players and especially the bettors this week in Week 16 of the NFL season!
- Chargers +5 at Raiders (O/U is 47)
The Thursday night game this week between the Chargers and the Raiders has no playoff implications. Derek Carr has certainly improved this season for the Raiders but if Philip Rivers offensive line gives him time this week the Chargers should beat the Raiders as an underdog. Rivers has a lifetime mark of 92-66 in the NFL while Derek Carr is 9-21.
- Redskins +3 at Eagles (O/U is 48)
The Saturday night game between the Redskins and Eagles has huge playoff implications. The Redskins can lock up the NFC East with a win while the Eagles can tie the Redskins atop the division with a win. Kirk Cousins looked great last week as the Redskins beat the Bills 35-25 but he’s still just 9-14 as a starting NFL QB.
- Patriots -3 at New York Jets (O/U is 45.5)
Bill Belichick has started talking about resting players over the last two weeks with the Pats already clinching a bye and the odds makers are taking him seriously as the Patriots are only a three point favorite this week vs the Jets. The Patriots beat the Jets 30-23 back in late October in a game that was not that close.
- Panthers -7 at Falcons (O/U is 47)
The Panthers just survived a furious rally from the Giants last week to remain undefeated. Will Carolina play hard the last two weeks to have an undefeated season or will they start resting players? The Panthers just clobbered the Falcons 38-0 two weeks ago. If you think the Falcons can win this game you should get a decent price this week.
- Steelers -10.5 at Ravens (O/U is 47)
The Ravens are a mess. If they start Jimmy Clausen at QB this week vs the Steelers his lifetime record is 1-13 in the NFL. The other option is Ryan Mallett who is 2-4 but has a lifetime completion percentage of 53.1%. Ben Roethlisberger is 112-55 lifetime as a starting QB in the NFL.
- Texans no line at Titans (O/U is N/A)
This game is impossible to bet until everyone finds out who the Texans QB will be. Brian Hoyer is meeting with an independent neurologist. If he’s cleared to play the Texans should win the game. If Brandon Weeden starts for the Texans who knows as Weeden is 5-19 lifetime as a starting NFL QB. Looks like Zach Mettenberger will start for the Titans and he’s 0-8 lifetime as a starter.
- Browns +13 at Chiefs (O/U is 42.5)
Do you believe in Johnny Manziel? If you do take the 13 points this week and bet the Browns. If you don’t take the red-hot Chiefs who have won eight straight games.
- Cowboys +6 at Buffalo (O/U is 43.5)
The Cowboys have played hard all year and if they had even a competent QB they would have won at least five more games this season. Kellen Moore makes his first NFL start this week for Dallas after throwing three picks last week vs the Jets to hand them the game.
- Bears +3 at Buccaneers (O/U is 45.5)
Both the Bears and Buccaneers are out of playoff contention so this game means very little. Which team will want to win it more? Jameis Winston looks like a QB who certainly wants to win games as he often yells at his teammates but do his teammates care?
- 49ers +8 at Lions (O/U is 43)
Blaine Gabbert has two wins for the 49ers this season but his overall record as a starting NFL QB is 7-26. It’s hard to bet on a QB like that in the NFL. Matthew Stafford’s record is only 40-51 but he’s thrown for over 500 yards in a NFL game and he’s thrown for 27 TDs this season.
- Colts no line at Dolphins (O/U is N/A)
This game is too much up in the air to bet this week right now due to the quarterback situation for the Colts. Matt Hasselbeck says he’s beat up and he’s got nothing left and if he can’t play that then Charlie Whitehurst will start. It’s so bad punter Pat McAfee has volunteered to play QB.
- Jaguars +3.5 at Saints (O/U is 52)
The Saints have given up a NFL worst 452 points this season and they cannot stop anybody on defense. Can Drew Brees give them enough offense this week to beat the Jaguars? Brees was limping around the Lions game Monday night before he led the Saints to 24 second half points to make the Lions loss close.
- Packers +4 at Arizona (O/U is 49.5)
You can’t get four points betting on Aaron Rodgers in too many NFL games but you can this week as the Cardinals are favored by four over Green Bay. Rodgers career record in the NFL as a starting QB is 80-37. Carson Palmer is now 28-8 as the Cardinals starting QB.
- Rams +14 at Seattle (O/U is 41)
The Rams have won two games in a row but can’t get any respect from the odds makers as they are a big 14 point underdog this week playing Seattle on the road. Case Keenum is just 4-9 lifetime as a starting NFL QB but he’s 4-1 over his last five starts and he looked really good last week vs the Buccaneers. Keenum threw 155 TDs in 57 games in college at Houston.
- Giants +5.5 at Vikings (O/U is 40.5)
If the Redskins beat the Eagles on Saturday night the Giants are out of the playoffs. So if you want to bet them this week on Sunday night factor into the equation whether or not they are still alive for a playoff berth. Players might not play hard for home field advantage but they tend to play really hard for playoff berths because money is on the line.
- Bengals +3.5 at Broncos (O/U is 40.5)
A.J. McCarron won his first NFL start for the Bengals last week over the 49ers. Since the Bengals are underdogs this week on Monday night in Denver you could say the odds makers were not impressed. Even before he started his first NFL game last week A.J. McCarron already scored big time this season as his bikini beauty pageant wife Katherine Webb is pregnant.
