Winvian, for example in the bucolic village of Morris located in the Litchfield Hills is offering a celebratory lodging and dining package that promises to offer a spectacular experience. The dress for the evening is elegant; black tie is optional. This package must be booked for two consecutive nights between December 30, 2015 and January 2, 2016 and includes a two night stay in one of 18 themed cottages that run the gamut from whimsical to elegant, a fifty minute Swedish massage, New Year’s Eve champagne reception with passed canapés, a five course dinner menu and wine pairing for two, and a full breakfast included each morning for two. Winvian is also offering free wifi and valet parking. Rates for this package start at $2,440.
In Danbury, the stately Ethan Allen Hotel is offering a special New Years Eve package that offers two convenient options for their guests. Those guests that want to make a night of it can book the package that includes an overnight, dinner, entertainment and breakfast the next morning for $399 per couple. For those guests that live nearby and want to get home, they can book the package for dinner and entertainment only for $259 per couple. The evening begins with an open bar cocktail reception from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and is followed by butler passed hors d’ oeuvres with dinner from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dinner includes soup, salad and three entree selections from chateaubriand with a cognac green peppercorn sauce, chicken roulade saltimbocca with vermouth dijon mustard, to cajun grilled halibut with voodoo beurre blanc or zucchini rollatini with puttanesca sauce. And for dessert, there will be a fabulous viennese pastry display. Party goers can dance to the music of the Tony T. Orchestra between courses.
For a change of pace, CoCo Key in Waterbury is offering a “Rockin New Years Eve” that is perfect for the whole family. This package includes a standard hotel room for accommodations for up to four people, a custom welcome gift with CoCo Key souvenirs, two day water resort access for four, special water resort activities throughout the day, a family feast buffet, karaoke and a live DJ with dancing to ring in the new year and a buffet breakfast the next morning. There will even be a special New Years Eve countdown for kids starting at 9 p.m. with caricatures, face painting, tie-dye tee shirts, glitter and airbrush tattoos, a photo booth, stilt walker and balloon artist. The hotel and water resort package for four is $429 plus tax, for two nights, December 31 and January 1, 2016 the cost is $658 for four plus tax.
Litchfield’s newest restaurant, Tavern off the Green located in the newly renovated Litchfield Inn is offering a fabulous New Years Eve dinner from 7 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. The evening begins with butler passed hors d’ouevres and a wine tasting from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and includes: wild mushroom puffs roasted in Puff Pastry with Sherry and Romano Cheese, Slow Roasted Tomato, Pesto and Fresh Mozzarella bruschetta, smoked chicken, sundried tomato and artichoke flatbreads, Crystal Peak black angus sliders with bacon, caramelized onion and Cheddar, lobster truffle mac and cheese in filo crisps, spicy Andouille bruschetta with mesquite BBQ sauce, lump crab cakes with lemon caper aioli, smoked salmon on a rice Cracker with Chopped Onion, Capers and Crème Fraiche, Skewered Chicken with Spiced Golden pineapple, beef tenderloin on a roasted garlic bagel crisp with a horseradish sauce, Southwestern meatballs with a Cheddar fondue, crispy vegetarian Thai spring rolls with a lime-chili dipping sauce and gorgonzola-sausage stuffed mushroom caps. Interlaken Inn nestled in the Litchfield Hills in scenic Lakeville, between two mountain lakes, is offering a calm and relaxing New Years Eve affair that is perfect for those that want a quiet and intimate evening. Dinner will be served at 7:30 and starts off with Lobster Bisque or Butternut Leek Soup, that is followed by butter lettuce salad with chive buttermilk dressing crispy shallots, radish and Great Hill bleu cheese. Guests will have a choice between roasted pumpkin ravioli, pecans, sage, brown butter, Reggiano; pistachio crusted salmon, grilled asparagus, cauliflower puree, herb salad; brick roasted chicken, wilted spinach, wild mushroom polenta, truffle reduction; or roasted filet of beef, lemon pepper broccoli, potato gratin, horseradish butter. There will be a dessert selection as well as entertainment that will start at 8 p.m. and end at 11 p.m. The cost per person is $69, plus tax and service charge. Special lodging rates are also offered with this package.
In Southbury, The Heritage Hotel is offering a New Year’s Eve Champagne Dinner from 5.m. to 10 p.m. that is $100 per couple. The menu starts with amuse bouche and is followed by butternut squash soup and a salad. There are three entree choices: chicken parmesan, blackened tilapia and black angus top sirloin with a vegetarian option upon request. Dessert choices include a double chocolate cake and a fresh fruit cheese cake. Dinner package includes champagne served throughout dinner plus coffee and tea. After dinner, guests are invited to party in property’s “Tavern” to celebrate the New Year watching their big-screen TVs. Special New Years Eve lodging packages are also available.
The Old Riverton Inn located on the banks of the National Wild and Scenic Farmington River is offering a special overnight package on New Years Eve that includes: overnight accommodations for two, a chilled bottle of champagne and fresh flowers and a continental breakfast in the morning for $156 plus tax.
