At Jacksonville Fine Dining Examiner, we always strive to keep our readers updated with the latest news from the Jacksonville Fine Dining scene. The opening of a new upscale restaurant is always a point of interest, so we were very excited to hear about Bob’s Steak & Chop House opening in Amelia Island. The restaurant is taking the place of PLaE restaurant on the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort property at the Shops at Amelia Island Plantation (the Shops are a short and very pleasant walk form the main resort). We’ve written extensively about Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort and their excellent restaurants. In particular, Verandah has become one of our favorite restaurants on the island (for more on Verandah, see this link for our our Jax’s Best Dishes article). Now, Bob’s Steak & Chop House will add to the growing list of excellent restaurants at Amelia Island.
The old PLaE restaurant space will undergo a complete renovation, the goal of which is produce a new ambiance that embodies the elegant feel that diners expect at Bob’s. The original Bob’s was opened in Dallas in 1993 has now grown to 11 locations across the U.S. The restaurant chain is known for their lively atmosphere, wine, and large cuts of prime steaks, chops, and seafood. Bob’s only serves meat that was hand selected from the best 2% of all beef. To pair with the meat, Bob’s offers many sides and desserts, which are made in-house, including Bob’s famous pickles warm bread, and skillet fries. Each entree that Bob’s serves comes with an option of a potato and their renowned glazed carrots. Bob’s Steak & Chop House is set to open on Tuesday, March 1st, 2016.
