Good health is a major concern of mine and there are two organizations that have a distinct place in my heart, Donor Alliance and the Center for African American Health. Not only because of my affiliations but because our young male and female boxing athletes (along with their friends and families) need be aware of the opportunities made available to them in ways of living a healthy life. Should the time come, helping another live a healthy life once you’re gone is truly the ‘Gift of Life’. Contrary to some belief, ‘You can’t take them with you’.
Before making my way to the New Generation amateur boxing show, this Saturday morning I will be in attendance at the Donor Alliance Advocate Appreciation Breakfast, held this year at the Butterfly Pavilion, 6252 W. 104th Ave in Westminster, from 9-11AM (invitation only). My fellow ‘Advocates for Life’ get to enjoy the opportunity to mingle with some who they’ve yet to meet, and have some recognized for their outstanding efforts in spreading the word of organ, eyes and tissue donation this past year. My affiliation with Donor Alliance has surpassed the 6 years mark as well as me recently celebrating 17 years of successful kidney transplantation. Me and my family always look forward to this more than worthy event. Should you have any questions regarding organ, eyes and tissue donation, visit the Donate Life Colorado website at www.donatelifecolorado.org. Interested in being involved in the Donor Alliance organization as a volunteer? E-mail Erin O’Brien: email@example.com or Mandy Bock: firstname.lastname@example.org.
