The New England Black Wolves defeated the Buffalo Bandits 15-11 Saturday at Mohegan Sun arena. A physical and disciplined New England defense has clearly helped so far in 2016. Through three games, the Black Wolves have pitched two scoreless quarters. They came within one second of recording a third at Georgia and limited the opposition to just one goal in five other quarters. Last year, New England posted no scoreless quarters, and seven one goal quarters. And so far this year, the Black Wolves are clamping down in the second half, allowing an average of 2.3 goals over the final two quarters, Last year, New England surrendered an average of seven goals after intermission. New England’s penalty kill percentage ranks third in the NLL. Last year the Black wolves killed off 52 percent of opposition power plays.
The Black Wolves will return to action on Saturday, February 6th when they travel to Buffalo. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
