On March 19, 2016 at 10:30am – 4:00pm at the Curtis Hixon Park, Tampa’s annual Saint Patrick’s Day celebration kicks off. The celebration known as the Mayor’s River O’Green Fest is highlighted by the greening of the Hillsborough River. Admission is free. This year features a new additional service of downtown Tampa, the Pirate Water Taxi. At the time of transforming the Hillsborough River green in downtown Tampa, visitors will have had access to the Pirate Water Taxi. The water taxi company can transport at least 40 riders per boat, on 3 different boats.
Pirate Water Taxi opened Feb. 28, 2016, offering boat captains donned in pirate garb for 7 days a week, Sun-Thurs 10:00am to 10:00pm and Fri and Sat 10:00am to 12:00 midnight.
Tickets are available at Pirate Water Taxi’s website at $15.00 for all day fares for adults. The service offers 14 stops along the Hillsborough River, including Channel Side, Curtis Hixon Park, Davis Island, and Harbour Island.
