Abandoned at the shelter at 13-years-old and so heartlessly neglected, “Kobe” ironically bears the same name as the famous Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant who retired the same day amid a flurry of purple and gold. Sadly, there was no celebration for the senior Cocker spaniel; his life had no meaning when his longtime family moved and decided their dog wasn’t worthy of any consideration.

“Sweet KOBE is 13 and after being betrayed by his family and left at the shelter without much concern for what will happen to him, he is in need of help now! He is very special but he isn’t doing well. Please share for his life…”
An additional Facebook page is available here. Early Wednesday morning, rescue organization, Leave No Paws Behind, posted they would be helping this defenseless little senior:
“Ok so I just got off the phone with the shelter inquiring about sweet little Kobe. While we understand the owners abandoned him stating they were moving THEY forgot to mention he was very ill! He has a list of medical notes a mile long and is in pretty rough shape and is not doing well, bless his little senior heart. We are in need of a Hospice Foster in the Local Los Angeles, Ca and surrounding areas to help him! NOW I asked if he had any interest, and they told me “no” and then asked me if I would like to place a CTA on him! I took a very deep breath knowing that in order for me to do that I would have to take a leap of faith in hope that someone would open their heart and home to help help us help him for whatever time we are blessed with him. We cannot let him die alone and wondering on a cold shelter floor.I then glanced over at Alley’s photo and very quickly replied ” yes”! Hold on Kobe the LNPB Freedom ride to East Valley Veterinary Clinic/Mark Hohne DVM will soon be there to bring you home.”
If anyone can help Toby with this little guy who needs compassion and care, please don’t hesitate to contact the organization. To help with Kobe’s medical expenses, please email the organization at email@example.com or click here. Please share Kobe’s plight with family, friends and social media contacts; he certainly deserves more than being left to die in a crowded shelter.
