Nice things are nice to have. Good service is hard to come by and a thing of beauty when it happens. While neither is essential to one’s existence, both sure can have a positive impact on it. A good service that delivers nice, custom, hand made clothing – that is what 8/Omakase is and that is what it does.
In short, 8/Omakase is a made to measure clothing service for men with a subscription box model. It is named after a term often used in sushi restaurants where the customer allows the chef to serve as he or she sees best. This way the customer gets to explore something new that was chosen by an expert, something almost guaranteed to be spectacular without the burden of having to decide. Cool.
Though it is entirely feasible to think that there is a complex organization behind the slick and somewhat laid-back façade of the 8/Omakase website, the process for customers appears to be pretty straightforward. Firstly, the customer has to answer a few questions in order to establish a style profile. Stuff like, business or casual, edgy or preppy, climate, and the kind of shoes regularly worn help the 8/Omakase stylists figure out what sort of attitude the clothing is going flaunt. Secondly, surprisingly few measurements must be provided in order for the 8/Omakase algorithm to round out an extensive array of measurements. It should be noted that doing these measurements is MUCH easier with an assistant, so find yourself a buddy who doesn’t mind seeing you in your skivvies and hand over the tape measure. Once the profile is updated with style preferences, measurements, and the $300 required for the two deliveries per quarter, all that needs to be done is wait.
Deliveries should take four to six weeks to happen with the second delivery coming about 45 days later. Customers should expect between two and four items per box. Waiting is the hardest part of this entire process. For more information about 8/Omakase, click here. Be sure to be on the lookout for the upcoming 8/Omakase review.
