The mission in the “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 7 finale is personal – especially for Sam. On Friday, April 29, CBS released a sneak peek from “Talion” teasing how it all begins for the team.
In this next episode, Sam receives a distress code from his son Aiden alerting him to the fact that his school has been taken over by an extremist group. The team rushes to San Francisco to protect Aiden and free the hostages. In the promo, Granger warns, “You cannot turn this into a personal rescue mission.” But what’s going to happen once the team is on site? (Don’t forget to check out the slideshow to see the promotional photos that were previously released.)
The “Talion” sneak peek (above) begins with a message from Aiden waking Sam up: “HAZE GREY-HAZE GREY—ACADEMY OVERTAKEN BY ARMED MEN. NEED HELP.” Yes, it’s a distress code, and from what Granger can find out, Keating Military Academy has possibly been taken over by an extremist group, but there has been no further contact with Aiden. (The Academy has a strict no-cell phone policy, so his only form of communication is via a tablet.) Could this just be a training exercise? Not with that distress code.
Plus, calls to the school are going to voicemail, and according to the website, there are electrical and communications problems that will be sorted out in the next few hours – but that seems too suspicious and hasn’t been verified. Though Granger has called the FBI field office to send agents to look into it, Sam tells him to call them back. If this is legit (it is, Sam insists), whoever’s behind it doesn’t know they’re onto them yet, and they need to keep it that way, at least until they know what they’re up against. “I’ll tell you what they’re up against. They’re up against me,” Sam says, walking out of the Ops Center.
