“Smoke and Mirrors” opened with the city of Chicago, IL and a lovely young woman named Nailah Franklin. She always answered her cell phone when it came to family and friends. She got involved with Andre from the city of Milwaukee. Nailah never showed up for work one day back in 2007. Her older sister filed a missing person’s report.
Nailah built a career in Pharmaceutical sales & had a condo in the city. She was going to move-in with Andre until the day of Sept. 18, 2007. Printed “missing flyers” were posted all around the city. Day one became day three and still no Nailah. Police scanned her phone records and they found three 911 calls that were dialed. They didn’t hear Nailah’s voice in those calls.
Andre came to Chicago to help look for Nailah. He had become a person of interest because he was her boyfriend. Police then found several boxes 20 miles from Chicago. Pharmaceutical bottles were inside those boxes. They also found a necklace, but didn’t find Nailah’s body in the nearby pond. Her car was then found at Hammond, Indiana. It was sitting in front of a house and that car was wiped clean of any finger prints.
