Sunday’s Pistons vs Cavaliers live stream online and TV coverage will kick-off the best-of-seven first round playoff series between the best team in the Eastern Conference against a former East powerhouse that is once again climbing the basketball ranks. For Cleveland, it is NBA Title or bust. The Cavs finished two games short of a NBA Championship last season and have made this season their mission to win their first NBA crown. Detroit on the other hand has one of the youngest teams in the game and behind players like Reggie Jackson, Andre Drummond and Marcus Morris, the Pistons are on the right track to recapturing the glory years.
According to a CBS Sports report, while Detroit is back in the postseason for the first time since 2009 they are heavy underdogs to take out the Cavaliers in this opening round series. However, the Pistons have beat Cleveland three out of four times this season, and they are relishing in the “us against the world” role. Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy has faced LeBron James a few times in the playoffs, and he knows it will take a great effort to make this series, well, a series.
”It will be difficult,” Van Gundy said. ”They’re the No. 1 seed in the East. They’re a team that went to the Finals last year. They’ve got three All-Star-caliber guys, one probably the best player in the world. And their complementary guys are very good.”
In sports, they say it’s all about the playoffs, but the Pistons will have a great deal of confidence even though they are being picked by basically no one to win their first round series vs. the Cavs. Detroit won three of the four regular season match-ups from the Cavs and I think the success will continue in the playoffs. With one of the best young point guards in Reggie Jackson and the NBA’s leading rebounder Andre Drummond, the Pistons should make these games very competitive. The last time Detroit was in the postseason they were swept by the Cavs back in 2009.
Las Vegas odds makers have the Cavs listed as 11 point favorites in Game 1, with the over/under number set at 201. Cleveland is listed at -1100 to win the series, with the come back on Detroit set at +750.
Fans can catch all of the action from the opening tip until the final buzzer on ABC nationally starting at 3:00 p.m. ET. If you are on the go this Sunday afternoon but don’t want to miss any of the action, you are in luck. You can watch the game streaming live online through your PC, tablet or smart phone via Watch ESPN or the ESPN app.
Prediction: Pistons sweep Cleveland! Okay, that’s not going to happen, however Detroit will play much better than odds makers believe and take this series 6 or 7 games. As for Game 1, Detroit +11 looks too good to pass up on.
Game 1 — Detroit +11
Series — Cavaliers in 6 or 7
