The 2016 Auto Club 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race is taking place this week on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at the Auto Club Speedway located in Fontana, California with a start time of 3:30 pm EDT and the race is on TV on FOX. T-1. Kevin Harvick – 5 to 1
After winning last week in Phoenix for the umpteenth time Kevin Harvick is co-favorite to win this week at 5 to 1 odds. Kevin Harvick has one win in this race (2011) and one win over the track. For his career, Kevin Harvick now has 32 wins in 542 starts in NASCAR Sprint Cup races.
3. Kyle Busch – 6 to 1
Kyle Busch had the pole last week in Phoenix and finished the race in 4th place. Kyle Busch has two wins in this race (2013, 2014) and three wins over the track (2005). For his career, Kyle Busch has 34 wins in 394 starts.
T-4. Joey Logano – 8 to 1
Joey Logano did not run well last week as he started in 9th place and finished the race in 18th. Joey Logano has never won this race and he’s never won over the track. For his career, Joey Logano has 14 wins in 259 races and he won 11 races over 2014-15.
T-4. Matt Kenseth – 8 to 1
Matt Kenseth started in 6th place last week in Phoenix and finished the race in 7th. Matt Kenseth has three wins in this race (2006, 2007, 2009) and three wins over the track. For his Sprint Cup career, Matt Kenserth has 36 wins in 582 starts. After not winning a race in 2014, Kenseth won five times last year.
T-6. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. – 10 to 1
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. ran great last week as he started in 26th and finished in 5th and led the race for 34 laps. Junior has yet to win this race or win a race over the track. For his career, Junior has 26 wins in 581 starts. Junior won seven races over 2014-15.
T-6. Kurt Busch – 10 to 1
Kurt Busch started in 4th last week and finished the race in 6th. Kurt Busch has one win in this race (2003) for his only win over the track. For his career, Kurt Busch has 27 wins in 544 starts.
T-8. Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards – 12 to 1 odds each
Brad Keselowski is the defending champion in this race and that is his lone win over the track. Keselowski has a win this season at Las Vegas. Last week in Phoenix he had a bad week starting in 19th and finishing in 29th place. Carl Edwards started last week in 2nd place and he finished in 2nd just losing by a whisker to Kevin Harvick so he ran well. Edwards won this race in 2008 for his only win over the track.
T-10. Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex, Jr. – 15 to 1 odds each
Denny Hamlin won the 2016 Daytona 500 and he ran well last week starting and finishing the race in 3rd place. He’s looking for his first win in this race and over the track. Martin Truex, Jr. started in 8th last week and finished in 14th place. He’s always a tough bet as he’s won just 3 races in 373 NASCAR Sprint Cup starts.
12. Chase Elliott – 20 to 1
Chase Elliott ran decently last week as he started in 17th place and finished the race in 8th place. Chase Elliott is a rookie and this will be his 10th career start as he looks for his first Sprint Cup win in NASCAR.
T-13. Kasey Kahne, Kyle Larson – 25 to 1 odds each
Kasey Kahne did not run well last week as he started in 24th and finished in 22nd place. He’s never won this race but he did win over the track once in 2006. Kyle Larson started in 7th place last week and faded to 12th at the finish. This will be Kyle Larson’s 80th Sprint Cup start as he looks for his first win.
T-15. Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman – 80 to 1 odds each
Neither Jamie McMurray or Ryan Newman have ever won this race or won over the track. McMurray started in 11th place last week and finished in 16th place. Ryan Newman started in 20th place last week and crashed out to finish last in 39th place.
17. Clint Bowyer – 300 to 1
Clint Bowyer started in 35th place last week and finished the race in 31st. Bowyer has never won this race or won a race over the track. For his career, Clint Bowyer has eight wins in 365 starts.
