On Sunday, the NASCAR 2016 Food City 500 live stream online and televised Sprint Cup series race takes place at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. Kevin Harvick had been the standings leader for a bit of the early going this season, but after last week has fallen behind to third place, with Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson moving ahead of him. Carl Edwards, who will have the pole for Sunday’s latest race, is right in contention as well in fourth place, with Joey Logano and Dale Earnhardt Jr. hanging around in fifth and sixth, respectively. The Food City 500 live streaming and televised event coverage will be available on Sunday thanks to the FOX Sports network for fans to watch.
According to The Charlotte Observer in their April 15 report, Carl Edwards had pole position for last weekend’s Duck Commander race in Texas and was leading for 124 laps. He ultimately saw his chances at a first win this season slip away when he had a loose tire after a restart on Lap 222. Edwards was forced to make a pit stop and ended up finishing seventh, despite running in the top three for most of the race. He’s finished in the top 10 for six races so far this Sprint Cup season, but is clearly ready for the big win. Edwards noted with regards to his luck, “There have been times in my career where I probably shouldn’t have won and it sort of came easy. Right now we’ve had fast cars and we haven’t been able to capitalize.”
He’ll get another chance on Sunday, as he’ll be up front on the starting grid. Starting at the No. 2 spot will be Toyota driver Matt Kenseth. Joey Logano starts at the third spot alongside Denny Hamlin in fourth. Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson, who currently are first and second in the driver standings, will be in the fifth and sixth spots. Kevin Harvick had been leading the standings for most of this season until last week’s race. He now is in third place and will start in the No. 7 spot Sunday with Martin Truex Jr. at the No. 8 position. Rounding out the top 10 of the starting lineup are AJ Allmendinger and Trevor Bayne.
