On the evening of February 21 inside the Nashville International Airport, passengers there got more than an eyeful when a naked man was seen casually strolling the terminal. The man apparently got naked after parking his car at one of the airport parking garages and then around 5:30 p.m. sauntered au natural over to the airport terminal before getting in line at the American Airlines counter, according to a report from USA Today.
A spokesperson for the airport, Shannon Sumrall, said that this isn’t the first time the same individual has shed his clothes at the Nashville Airport. Sumrall said that the same guy has gotten naked on airport property on a handful of occasions but added that this was the first time he ever made it so far inside the terminal without wearing any clothes, according to The Tennessean.
One airport passenger, Todd Brilliant, saw the naked man in the airport and took a few not suitable for work photos that he posted to his Facebook page. Brilliant updated his Facebook status to say “So this just happened at Nashville airport. I walked up to him and said ‘You’re amazing.’ He replied, ‘Thanks.’ Then they came for him.” Brilliant has since shared his Facebook photos with media outlets worldwide and has even been interviewed by several TV stations.
Following his arrest, the naked man was identified by ABC News affiliate WKRN in Nashville as Eric Cherry. Police records state that as soon as police saw Cherry standing in line at the American Airlines counter, that he was arrested for indecent exposure.
Cherry even tried buying a ticket but was hauled off before completing the transaction. We’re not sure where he was carrying his wallet and identification though.
Cherry was charged with public indecency in 2009 at the same airport. In that previous incident, although he was naked, he never made it out of his car.
