What’s shaped like a Star Wars droid but gets filled with food, not electronics? The Gourmia’s GTA2500 11 in 1 Digital Turbo Cook Center & Air Fryer is the answer. And long after the hype of a galaxy far, far away returned has died down, the hunger of folks being assuaged by this small appliance will be satisfied.
Now that’s quite a mouthful to say, but what this cooking appliance does will fill that same mouthful in a healthier and much more tasty manner. The GTA2500 has a futuristic look, but it’s one that is more inclined to fit in with the kitchen decor than not, as its off-white appearance is coupled with a digital front panel with various tabs to press and activate.
To simplify, what we have here is a halogen-based multi cooker ($239.99 retail) that lives up to the “multi” name; for that reason the inclusion of so many accessories is more than just sensible but expected. You get a rotating rotisserie, tongs, a Kabob rack and bake pan, a Hi Steamer Rack (and low) and steel mesh filter plus others that make 11 times in all and which round out the fact that it does a large number of things. So you want to deep fry or stir fry or roast or grill, go ahead. It’s all there for doing. Defrosting frozen foods might sound useful, but that it can make french fries and even pizza, well that just makes it so much better. As noted above, halogen is the cooking culprit here.
The unit functions through the application of both convection and radiant technologies: circulating the hot air which provides quicker cooking times and a more even overall results. So that means no oil is involved at all — removing the greasy aspects that often turn people off (not to mention making it tough for cleaning the appliance afterwards). And by cutting back on the time overall, there’s more time for the eating, so all the rushing and hubbub that’s bad for digestion can be laid to rest for a change.
Gourmia is a small appliance company, but they also know that “small” doesn’t mean puny, and the fact that they provide YouTube videos shows that they know that the first trick to getting a quality product into someone’s hands is to show them not only that it works, but that it works by making cooking easier for the one who’s been assigned the task (or decided to take on the task for themselves).
There’s other benefits too and they involve the fact that there’s no oil. That means that those who get heartburn and have trouble digesting fried foods will have an easier time, those who worry about fried foods affecting their skin (a.k.a., pimples) will have an easier time and those worried about calories (pretty much us all) will have one less excuse for avoiding being weight conscious about fat. Obviously it also will cut back significantly on cleaning out the GTA2500 — it’s time well spent but still time better spent doing something else.
The Gourmia GTA2500 11 in 1 Digital Turbo Cook Center & Air Fryer looks attractive, but what it does is even better — making it possible to cook so many different ways without having to study with a cookbook on top of you at the same time. Is it worth the $239.99 retail price? You bet.
