Anyone who is a fan of Mitt Romney has to be awfully confused right about now. Romney has made robocalls for Ted Cruz, but wasn’t he just saying a week or two ago that he was going to vote for John Kasich? What’s up with this?
Who knew Romney would turn out so wishy-washy? Fox News reports on March 21, that not only is Mitt’s voice saturating the phone lines in two states with these robocalls singing Cruz praises, but he is dismissing Kasich in the process.
So far during this Republican campaign, Romney has made robocalls for Marco Rubio, John Kasich and now Ted Cruz. If this isn’t wishy-washy, what is? If in the end he makes robocalls for Donald Trump, then he’s going to have himself a bona fide wishy-washy legacy!
The Washington Times reports what you will hear Romney say if you happen to answer one of his robocalls:
“Hello, this is Mitt Romney,” one call begins. “And I’m calling to ask you to join me in supporting Ted Cruz for president this Tuesday in the Utah Republican caucuses. This is the time for Republicans across the spectrum to unite behind Ted. He is the only Republican candidate who can defeat Donald Trump, and at this point a vote for John Kasich is a vote for Donald Trump.”
This looks like such a desperate move on the Republican Party’s part. They are acting like school kids trying to oust the popular kid. These robocalls with Romney’s request for you to vote for Cruz, is nothing more than a charade. It is all done with the hopes of thwarting Trump, but it is backfiring.
Romney’s robocalls are circulating in Utah and in Arizona, where Tuesday’s voting is hanging over the heads of the Republican Party. Romney, who once got up on stage and sang Trump praises during his presidential run against Obama, now appears to despise the GOP front runner.
Trump’s in good company though, poor Kasich. He had Romney on his side for a fleeting moment and then the ring leader of this Republican circus turns around and changes his position telling folks a vote for Kasich is a vote for Trump.
The Kasich camp has knocked Romney for this underhanded deed of throwing his weight behind Cruz and getting off the Kasich band wagon. Whether the people in Utah love him or not, they have to see the Republican Party is playing Romney like a puppet and he’s letting them pull all the strings.
Their ridiculous strategy of, vote Kasich, no, don’t vote Kasich, vote Cruz…. is making Trump look like the most decisive person who ever came down the pike! Even with Trump’s controversial quips, he looks so much more on the ball than the Republican Party that he actual represents. What a strange entity this Republican Party is!
