Wow, can you believe this year is almost over? Seriously, before we all could even get to the beach to get our summer tans, we were celebrating the holidays. Then, whoosh, the holidays seem to be just flying by too! Since we are winding down the year, it is a good time to reflect on the past year.
Remember, reflecting is not to put yourself down! In fact, a fun activity to do is make your own “Top 10 list” of your life for this past year. No matter how small or large the success, you know that you can come up with at least 10 high points in your life that made a difference. Be serious and think about it. You will start to see that you probably have much more to be grateful for than you realized. Being grateful for what you have is the first step towards receiving more in your life. You feel more energized when you are grateful for all the things in your life plus you are opening up a vortex to the Universe which in turn will bring to you even more good energy! Believe me, if you had EVERYTHING taken away from you and I mean EVERYTHING… you would soon start to appreciate every little thing and not take anything for granted.
You know, life if similar to salt in the food world. Salt is one of those things that if used correctly, will enhance your food and baked goods, considerably. But, if you over use it or use it incorrectly, it will ruin many a good dish.
Life’s energy is similar in theory. We are like a saltshaker and every morning we are blessed or filled with a “Full Shaker” of salt (energy). Now what we do with that salt (energy) through out the day is our choice. We can use the salt (energy) wisely, enhancing our food (life) and making it the best that we possibly can or we can waste it, by throwing it around, over using it, doing everything except what we are supposed to do.
Eventually the shaker runs out of salt (energy) and your day is over. At the end of the day ask yourself, “Self” did I enhance my life today”? If not, do not be discouraged because one great thing about food, salt, life and energy is that we can refill the saltshaker, remake the food and hopefully in life, we are blessed with another day. Another day to be “refilled” with energy and hopefully this time use it a little more wisely. There is one big difference between life and salt. With salt I would rather start out with less salt and then add more if necessary, where in life, once you have “tested the waters”, you want to grab as much as possible! It is like they say (who the heck are “They, anyway?)… “If you don’t go out on the limb, you won’t get the fruit”!
So basically, it is like this: life is not always just a bowl full of cherries, it is going to have a few pits in it! Just don’t swallow a pit. We are the only ones who put us where we are now or really, any time in our lives. Yes, there are many circumstances that effect our lives, but it is our choices that eventually create our life! If you are not happy with where you are in life, then start making changes towards what you want. One of the best ways to do that is by creating a “vision board”. A vision board is anything that you can put stuff on, to look at daily. Stuff like pictures of things you want or places you want to go. It could be phrases of positive thoughts. It could be anything that is going to make your life “YOUR LIFE”!
Along the way, remember that being kind is much better for you, for the person you’re confronting and the whole world in general. Anger, hate, violence are all words and actions that should be eliminated, now! It is our choice and really, it could be your next action… to choose to eliminate any and all of those negative things.
As the new year approaches, be thankful for the chance to learn, to grow, to love and to live!
Tomorrow we will share a few good tips for some tasty, after the holiday “hangover” cures! Again thanks for tuning in and we are grateful for YOU! Until next time be safe, be cool, never be a fool and create the most glorious, joyful, celebrated new years possible! Happy New Years!
