The Michigan St. vs. Ohio State live stream online and televised basketball game caps off the action Tuesday night from the 2016 NCAA schedule of Top 25 teams. The Spartans are ranked No. 6 overall and continue to be listed among the favorites to win the NCAA Men’s Tournament during March Madness. They’ll take on conference foes, Ohio State, a team that is 10-5 in the conference and 18-10 overall, but not projected to reach the postseason tourney unless they pick up some big wins. They’ll try to cause trouble for the championship favorites as the 2016 NCAA basketball live streaming and televised game comes via ESPN networks.
A Feb. 22 CBS Sports game preview notes that this year’s Michigan State squad is averaging the most points ever for a Spartans team under coach Tom Izzo. The team averages 79.4 points per game, while also ranking fourth in rebounding with 42.2 points per game, first in assists with 20.7 per game, and No. 14 in points allowed, as they give up just 63.6 points per game. All that would seem to spell out that this team has the makings of a National Champion. They’ll enter tonight’s game off a 69-57 win over Wisconsin, as part of a two-game win streak. They previously defeated Indiana in an 88-69 rout after falling by a point to then-No. 18 Purdue.
Ohio State is currently a spot above the Spartans in the conference standings, but are not on the NCAA Tournament Bracketology projections. A total of seven teams are projected to make the tournament field which include Purdue, Michigan, Maryland, Wisconsin and Iowa. The Buckeyes are coming into tonight’s home game on a four-game winning streak, including a recent away win 65-62 over Nebraska in overtime. In the game, JaQuan Lyle scored his entire 19 points after the half to help lead the team to victory. It made for the team’s sixth win in eight games to keep their tournament hopes alive. A win tonight would obviously give their resume a major boost when the selection committee takes a look at quality wins on the season.
In terms of the odds to win this game, the Spartans are currently 7-point favorites on the spread at a variety of sports books. On the moneyline, bettors will find Michigan State priced as a -290 favorite, with the Buckeyes as +230 underdogs at home. The over/under points total is at 139 points for the complete game. Michigan State currently leads all teams on the future odds to win the NCAA Tournament with odds of 15 to 2 to win it all, with North Carolina second at 8 to 1 odds.
