It has now been over 3 years since hip hop artists, Matty Moe and Michael Barber announced a joint album was in the works. The news came after Moe and Barber released several success single tracks including a remix of Beanie Segal’s, I Don’t Do Much, and the Wu Tang Clan produced, Cope with the Pressure. They also released two major videos including for the Segal remix shot in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
The duo said that they were releasing a joint project called, Deadly Combo. Then they released a video for a song of the same name, Deadly Combo, that was seen on major video outlets such as MTVu and FUSE. Then all the talk was gone, and both seemed back on their own career paths. Barber moving forward with Illuminati Sky, his runk band (runk meaning punk and rap). While Matty Moe continued to work on his solo career opening for major acts and working on his upcoming debut solo album for major distribution.
Chicago Rap News listed the Deadly Combo album as one of the top 6 projects they were anticipating to drop in 2014 along with projects from Kanye West and Katie Got Bandz, and Dr. Dre’s artist, Jon Connor.
Now as we enter 2016, the two have announced that the project is done and to prove it they have released the album artwork via several social media sites. View the artwork above.
The album STILL doesn’t have an exact release date, and a tracklisting hasn’t been released. There has been some confirmation from a rep within Matty Moe’s camp that the album will have some major guest features including the likes of Method Man, Bubba Sparxx, Nappy Roots, and more. Wu Tang will have a huge presence on the album as Barber recently helped Wu rapper, Streetlife, land a major recording contract. The album artwork also features the Wu Tang Clan logo, but upside down as an M instead of a W.
Hip Hop fans can, hopefully, now say that the wait is almost over.
