The Miami vs. North Carolina live stream online and televised 2016 NCAA basketball game takes place on Saturday afternoon as two of the ACC’s best go head-to-head. Right now the Hurricanes are ranked No. 11 overall with UNC holding onto the No. 5 spot. Both teams just so happen to be 10-3 in conference, but the home team Tar Heels are coming off a close upset loss by a point to their rivals Duke. Could that be the recipe for a huge bounce back performance at Chapel Hill or will Miami (Fl.) take over as the conference leaders? The 2016 NCAA live streaming and televised coverage arrives via CBS networks on Saturday.
According to The Miami Herald in their Feb. 19 game preview, first place in the ACC is on the line in Saturday’s game, as the No. 11 Hurricanes begin a tough stretch for their schedule, facing their first of four ranked opponents. They’ve gone 4-3 against the Heels under head coach Jim Larranaga, but as mentioned UNC will be coming in off the sting of a loss against the Duke Blue Devils. A road win by this Miami team will not only improve their overall rank, likely putting them into the Top 10, but it also gives them first place in the ACC. Things won’t get any easier though, as next up, they’ll face No. 7 Virginia on Monday, followed by a Feb. 27 home game against No. 18 Louisville. Finally, on March 2 they get No. 19 Notre Dame. Currently, Miami (Fl.) is projected as a No. 3 seed in the Midwest via Joe Lunardi’s “Bracketology.”
UNC is currently considered a No. 2 seed by Lunardi and would be in the West bracket for the NCAA Tournament, according to projections. The Heels and Canes would be two of a total seven ACC teams to make it into the field of 68 teams. Right now these two in particular are the two at the top of the ACC, but Virginia (10-4), as well as Louisville, Duke and Notre Dame, all at 9-4, make things very interesting as the season moves into its final games before postseason play. Carolina will look to shake off a tough 74-73 loss against Duke this past week in which forward Brice Johnson had a monster performance of 29 points and 19 rebounds. Overall, Carolina won the battle of the boards 44-29 but ultimately couldn’t hold off a pesky Duke comeback. Look for them to try to make a statement and take the top spot in the ACC Saturday.
The Tar Heels first opened as 5-1/2 point favorites on the Vegas spread but have since moved up another point as the favorites. The over/under for this game opened at 150-1/2 points for the complete game. On future odds, Carolina is a 15 to 2 favorite to win the NCAA Tournament, tying them for first overall with the Oklahoma Sooners. The Hurricanes are currently 40 to 1 favorites to win it all, making them more of a longshot but tying them with LSU for No. 13 on the future odds list.
