There is some hype surrounding the new vitamin enhanced water and next generation sport drink, Hylux. As a low calorie, low sugar, and a 80 calorie per bottle drink, it is a high nutrient alternative to traditional sports drinks. It was developed for athletes and for active people who are tired of diluting high sugar and high calorie sports drinks with water. The product was created by Lamar Letts, a 4th year finance and marketing major at Northeastern University.
Hylux water is for people interested in getting some of the benefits of a sport drink in water. It is for the image conscious fitness crowd who want the most of their water. The water is a sports oriented electrolyte “fitness version of smart water.” The water is super-heated and the electrolytes are power mixed in to ensure maximum amount of electrolytes in the water. Hylux Sport can be consumed during the day for hydration and before, during or after a workout. Hylux Sport gives you multiple flavors to choose from which have the same amount of electrolytes and vitamins. It is a low calorie and low sugar enhanced water. It contains four different electrolyte sources and B complex vitamins. The drink is naturally flavored, colored and has more potassium than a banana.
Lamar Letts was born in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in a town in Long Island called Hewlett. He created Hylux during his freshman year at Northeastern University after an unexpected heart injury called myocarditis ended his career as a track athlete. After recovering, his doctor advised him to pay attention to his diet. Due to this, Letts found himself having to dilute high sugar and high calorie sports drinks with water in order to make them healthier. This was very challenging, so he envisioned a light, nutritional beverage that would get him back into fitness.
