The Masters 2016 live stream online and televised coverage of Round 3 picks up on Saturday with defending champion Jordan Spieth in the lead, and Rory McIlroy just a shot behind him. There’s a two-way tie for third place and a three-way tie for fifth place on the leaderboard results as well. It was a record-setting round for the 2015 champion, but he still was disappointed in his latest performance on Friday. Will Saturday’s third round fine Spieth still leading or will another golfer have played his way to the top? The 2016 Masters live streaming and televised golf tournament continues with coverage via The Golf Channel and CBS networks.
According to ESPN.com in their April 8 report from the second round results, Jordan Spieth set a record on Friday by leading The Masters for his sixth-straight round. He held a big lead for quite a while, but windy conditions played a factor in that lead shrinking as he finished the day up by just one shot on competitor Rory McIlroy (-3). McIlroy has sole possession of second-place on the leaderboard and if he continues to play well could have a serious shot at winning his first green jacket in Augusta. Third place features Danny Lee and Scott Piercy both tied at -2, while fifth place has Brandt Snedeker, S Kjeldsen and Hideki Matsuyama in a tie with -1 each.
On Friday, Spieth’s sixth consecutive round leading was the most by any golfer. Following Friday’s performance, Spieth still noted his disappointment in not playing his best, saying “I’m still in the lead. I couldn’t ask for much better than leading,” Spieth said. “I’m a bit disappointed right now, fresh off the round. Two over on the last three holes will leave you that way.” His closest competitor, McIlroy, said, “I know I’m in a good position going into the weekend. And I’m happy with that.” If the two continue to stay atop the leaderboard through Saturday’s action, it could set up an intriguing showdown for the final round on Sunday.
As of Friday night, Bovada LV online sports book had Spieth as the +200 favorite to win the tournament followed by McIlroy at +225 and Jason Day at +1200. Some other nearby players with potential on the board include Matsuyama at +1600, Snedeker at +2000, Danny Lee at +3300 and Scott Piercy for +4000. Long shots on the board include Lee Westwood at +20000, Keegan Bradley at +30000 and Bubba Watson at +32500. Could one of the players in the fifth-place tie grab a huge green jacket win and make some bettors a bit of money?
