Okay sorry about that headline but when a restaurant is named ‘Salt’ you got to go with the pun. And perhaps the woman who gave birth to you is already considered super special. Well SALT, a New American restaurant at the Marina Del Rey Hotel, wants to help you pamper her with a special Sunday brunch on her day, May 8 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Executive Chef Mark Gold is creating a special a la carte menu that will be available only one day. It will showcase his innovative approach on his California cuisine with seasonally inspired fare utilizing locally-sourced ingredients.
Some of Mom’s choices (and yours) include steak and eggs, medallions of Wagyu beef lightly covered in a savory bordelaise sauce, a bed of crispy potatoes with salsa verde and organic eggs served sunny side up. There will also be poached Maine lobster, Zuckerman’s green asparagus and brown butter in Chef Gold’s Maine lobster omelet. The limited menu will also include fresh Shingoku oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail, tuna nicoise and steamed Salt Creek mussels while sipping on bottomless mimosas overlooking the sparkling marina.
SALT offers a soothing setting that frazzled, over-worked mother’s will appreciate. It sits within the Marina Del Rey Hotel–a Pacific Hotels property–at 13534 Bali Way, (424) 289-8223. You can check out menus for other than Mother’s Day here.
