On March 22, Walt Disney World has added a special hard-ticket event to Magic Kingdom on select spring evenings. Called “Disney After Hours,” this experience will allow guests who purchase these limited-availability tickets to stay in the theme park for three extra hours, experiencing some of Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions and Disney characters.
During the three hours of “Disney After Hours,” guests will be able to experience some of the park’s attractions and character meet-and-greets in what the Orlando Sentinel calls “select areas” of the Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney World promotional site for the event identifies the following experiences, an incomplete list, as being part of the evenings: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Disney Princess Greetings at Princess Fairytale Hall, Peter Pan’s Flight, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Space Mountain.
“Disney After Hours” costs $149 per person (tax not included), the price for both adults and children. The special event will take place on the following nights in April and May; Disney has not yet indicated whether the event will be offered beyond these dates.
- April 28 and May 5, 2016 from 10 p.m. to 1 p.m.
- April 14 and 21, and May 8, 12 and 19, 2016 from 11 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The experience is a hard-ticket event, meaning guests must purchase an admission ticket for a specific event date in order to attend. Tickets for “Disney After Hours” may be purchased via phone by calling the Disney Reservation Center at 407-827-7185.
Also included with the price of admission are ice cream novelties and select bottled beverages. These refreshments will be available at carts stationed through the Magic Kingdom. Select menu items will be available for purchase at Casey’s Corner and the Starbucks location at Main Street Bakery.
Guests who purchase a “Disney After Hours” ticket may enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 7 p.m. on the day of the event. Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests will be able to use Disney transportation for up to two hours after the event ends; this includes those staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels.
Guests planning to attend “Disney After Hours” show be aware that the number of tickets available will be limited, and the event might sell out on some or all dates. And as with its other events, Walt Disney World notes specific Magic Kingdom attractions and experiences are subject to change without notice.
Walt Disney World guests with other forms of admission (“day guests”) should be aware that “Disney After Hours” means Magic Kingdom will close at 10 p.m. on April 28 and May 5, and at 11 p.m. on April 14 and 21, and May 8, 12 and 19. Day guests who have not purchased tickets to “Disney After Hours” cannot stay for the event.
