Hello New York doll collectors, and doll collectors across the country. We greet all doll collectors, with a special take on superheroes and villains. We are looking at two dolls from Madame Alexander. Before we get into details, it is important to mention what is incredibly striking about these two dolls. What is striking is the essence of each character, represented by the dolls. The essence is the complete hero worship of cuteness and the other is a pure villainous fashion and magnificent glamour. The two dolls of which we speak, is the Batman Jack 8” Collectible Doll – DC Comics and Poison Ivy – Alex 16 Collectible Doll – DC Comics. Let us take a closer look at these incredibly striking, character dolls.
We first take a look at Batman, Jack 8” collectible doll – DC Comics. Now, most of the world is aware of the movie with Batman against the Man of Steel (Dawn of Justice). If one has not seen this film, such as myself, the question would be, how could this possibly happen, particularly when there is a Batman out there, that looks as cute as this one. What does this have to do with the movie? Nothing! Except to say this Batman doll by Madame Alexander, has no time for fighting other superheroes, or anyone else for that matter. His only concern, is the love from doll collectors around the country and world, if you will. And his cuteness, really draws us, to that fact. The costume entails the pointed bat ears on his cap, to the batwing cape. This Batman has the epitome of absolute, earth saving cuteness. The mysterious mask, that includes the signature raised eyebrows, the moon shaped slits for the eyes, within the cap, gives a mysterious look. But once one looks deeply into the eyes of this doll, the mystery becomes known, that this is a huggable, lovable doll. The cape has a good length and fullness to it, which gives us the impression that this Batman doll could actually fly. With help of course. The Batman utility belt, is a wonderful addition to the ensemble. After all what is a superhero without one. And it’s a good replication of the original Batman utility belt. The shimmering body suit and the satiny short pant, are shaped and cut well. This is so necessary, in that this fits the movements of this darling superhero; movements, that are to simply dive into the hearts of the doll collectors around the world.
Finally, we have Poison Ivy. Be afraid. Be very very afraid. We are afraid that this villainous doll has a striking look that is not only poisonous, but glamorous as well. Let’s start with the countenance of this doll. Her eyelashes are lustrous, and eyebrows are raised in perfection, with a light green around her eyelids. Her lips are of a fire red color, that match the red fire in her hair, which lay softly on her shoulders. No doubt about it, she is a beauty. Her outfit, as a poisonous vine, she wears a body suit or leotard, covered in the shinny little plants. Some of these leaves are embedded in the leotard; the others, adorn her bodice and at the hips. In addition, she is wearing stockings that are beautifully sheer and green with a continuous row of ivy, from the top to bottom, of the sides of her legs. Matching the vines that adorn her leggings, are suede like boots, that have a look of leaves themselves. Take a look at the back of the boots, and how they flip up. The color of these boots are a gorgeous vine green. Such an enticing green that is surely able to wrap it’s coils around one with a fashionable mind. This could be said for the vines that have wrapped themselves around her wrists and neck, of which I’m sure Poison Ivy, doesn’t mind. They adorn her, as pieces of precious jewelry.
These Madame Alexander dolls have proven to be a special and striking addition to the world of of superheroes and villainous villains.
