A fire that occurred this past fall burned the ski lodge to the ground but the atmosphere surrounding the skiers and snowboarders has not been hampered by the unexpected turn of events. The guests still come and enjoy themselves and make adjustments where needed, however, the spirit and fun are not broken. Where once stood a cozy ski lodge now stands tents and trailers. To replace the stained glass windows are white vents and to replace the nice set up to eat or relax now sits picnic tables and folding chairs. The resort which was devastated by the fire in 2015 has risen beyond the ashes and overcome the obstacles and is once again thriving.
At 1,460 feet Mad River Mountain contains a 300 foot vertical drop as well as 12 lifts within a 144 skiable acre resort. For those that are in need or want to learn how to ski or snowboard they offer schools with instructors to teach you how to master the craft. If skiing and snowboarding are not your cup of tea than you can try one of the ten lanes for snow tubing or you can spend a relaxing night listening to live music in the lodge.
Mad River Mountain is a subsidiary of Peak Resorts which is located across the country as well as all over the state of Ohio.
