The Mack Avenue SuperBand is set to perform in Los Angeles at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Friday, April 1 at 8:00 pm in celebration of their most recent release, Live From The Detroit Jazz Festival – 2015. The recording is available on Mack Avenue Records and the live concert performance will feature many of the same artists who played in Detroit that sweltering summer day including trumpeter Sean Jones, saxophonist Tia Fuller, saxophonist Kirk Whalum, vibraphonist Gary Burton, pianist Christian Sands, Grammy-winning bassist Christian McBride and drummer Carl Allen.
Since its rollicking debut at the 2012 Detroit Jazz Festival, the Mack Avenue SuperBand has become a tradition at the annual event, a gathering of label superstars that the Motor City can look forward to every Labor Day weekend. Live From the Detroit Jazz Festival – 2015 captures the fourth incarnation of the all-star ensemble, for the first time under the leadership of triple Grammy winner Christian McBride.
