The 2016 ANA Inspiration women’s golf major tournament on the LPGA Tour is taking place this week from March 31 to April 3, 2016, on the Dinah Shore Championship Course at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the women LPGA golfers at the 2016 ANA Inspiration golf major.
The ANA Inspiration (formerly called the Kraft Nabisco Championship) dates back to 1972. The tournament has been a major on the LPGA Tour since 1983. As a major, Amy Alcott, Betsy King and Annika Sorenstam jointly hold the record for most wins with three each. In recent times, LPGA stars like Lexi Thompson (2014), Inbee Park (2013) and Stacy Lewis (2011) have won the major tournament.
The total prize money up for grabs at the 2016 ANA Inspiration is $2.6 million. That is up 4% over the $2.5 million in prize money that was up for grabs here last year. The winner’s share below is set in stone while the other amounts might vary slightly based upon ties and how many women make the cut. On the LPGA Tour the more women who make the cut the less each spot below the top spot will pay.
