On Feb. 6, 2016, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Hood’s Do-It Best in Wyandotte will host the “Love Me Because…” pet adoption and fundraising event. The event was created especially to find homes for pets who are overlooked at shelters or who may be difficult to place in permanent homes. Participants plan to have more than 40 of these adoptable cats and dogs in attendance at the event.
In 2016 “Love Me Because…” benefits five Michigan rescues: PAWS of Michigan, Faerie Tales Rescue, the Wyandotte Adoption Center, Lucky Day Animal Rescue, and River Rouge Animal Shelter. In addition to helping hard-to-place dogs and cats find new and loving homes, the event will raise money to help meet the needs of all foster and shelter animals at those rescues.
Tickets are now on sale for the Love Me Because Raffle which features over 100 prizes that are on display now at Hood’s, tickets can be purchased there too . Some of the raffle items can be viewed on the event page on Facebook. Wyandotte Mayor Joseph Peterson will be on hand to offer hot dogs and vegan dogs in exchange for a donation.
