What is the PROMocalypse? It’s a prom silly, and the promoters, Black 13 Tattoo are excited to host this again for the seventh year! Dancing, DJs, balloons, streamers, the works. The only difference between this and your high school prom is that you don’t have to sneak out to the parking lot to drink (as long as you’re 21 & up). Oh, and there are zombies. Where is this epic event? Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom at 9pm, Saturday April 9th, 2016. PROMocalypse is an 18 & up event, IDs are absolutely required to enter. Cities across the world have hosted Zombie Runs, Zombie Walks, Zombie Crawls, and now it’s Zombie Prom time. It’s your chance to get creative with makeup and costumes to become a zombie for one night, and join the horde of the walking dead terrorizing the living at Prom!
“For far too long, social events have unfairly excluded zombies. The undead have the right to party too! If you are one of the reanimated dead, or are in a relationship with one, there is no reason to hide in the dark any longer! If you are a living human who is sympathetic to the cause of reanimated rights, or have ever been zombie-curious, you are also welcome to join this historic event. For one night, let’s put our differences aside, dance, and have fun!” This particular prom is also the same weekend as the Nashville Walker Stalker Convention too! So a win, win zombierific weekend.
Popular questions answered by the promoters:
Is there a theme? This year’s theme is Masquerade Ball! As always, formal attire is REQUIRED.
Do I have to be a zombie to come? No! Living humans are welcome. If you are a zombie dating a human, or a human dating a zombie, or a human looking for a zombie to complete (and/or eat) you, come and dance the night away! (18+ to party, 21+ to drink, of course.)
How should I look? Come dressed for prom: Suits or tuxes for guys, dresses or gowns for ladies. Whether you are a human or a zombie, prom attire is MANDATORY — you will not be allowed in if you’re not dressed appropriately (even if you already have a ticket). YES, WE’RE SERIOUS.
Will there be a Prom King and Queen? Yes! We will once again crown a PROMocalypse King and Queen. Nominate yourself by posting a photo on Instagram or Twitter by tagging it with #promocalypsecourt. You can also post a photo on our Facebook Wall and include the tag #promocalypsecourt. Spelling is important! Prom or zombie attire is not required for the photo submission, but it needs to be a clear photo of YOU. After you’ve uploaded your photo with the hashtag, make sure to share through the submission page and encourage friends to vote via the Voting Page. VOTING STARTS MARCH 7th & ENDS MARCH 28th AT MIDNIGHT, and you can vote once a day via Facebook. We will take the top 5 girls and top 5 guys to be this year’s Prom Court. Voting for this year’s King and Queen will take place at the event, April 9th.
This is a peaceful event, so no weapons of any kind are permitted. Yes, this includes “fake” weapons! You’re going to be dancing, so you’ll want to keep the props to a minimum.
