This week’s live music events in Indianapolis will be full of some incredible local and national acts. There is going to be several big concerts, a benefit for a good cause, and a show dedicated to the memory of a musician who was taken from Indy’s music scene over the weekend. These live music events will be sure to give everyone something to do.
Tuesday kicks off with national act Puscifer at the Old National Center. Puscifer is a funky, creative type rock band and is one of many projects by Tool lead singer Maynard Keenan. Puscifer is on tour after releasing their new album “Money Shot”. You can buy tickets to the event here.
Over the weekend, a sudden tragedy took the life of a wonderful musician, family member and friend. His band Bulletwolf was set to play the Crowbar “Broken Glass” 20th anniversary show at the 5th Quarter Lounge on Tuesday, so this show will be dedicated to his memory. Wednesdays live music events include Silverstein and Being as an Ocean at the Old National Centre, Huntertones with Brooklyn Based Horn Band at the Jazz Kitchen, Toy Factory at Kona Jack’s, and Barry Manilow with Dave Koz at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse. The Pink Floyd tribute band Brit Floyd will be here on Thursday at the Old National Centre. Pink Floyd tribute bands are usually very entertaining, as they usually include some the same theatrics that Pink Floyd used to have in their shows. You can buy tickets to the show here.
Local live music events on Thursday include a latin dance party at the Jazz Kitchen, information here, and Orvis & Friends at Kona Jack’s, information here. Also on Thursday, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra begin their “Pictures at an Exhibition” series at the Hilbert Circle Theatre. They will be playing the series Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at varying times. You can get more information here.
Friday will be packed with several very fun and diverse live music events. National artists Mutemath will be at the Old National Center. Creedence Clearwater Revisited will be at The Palladium Carmel on Friday. Creedence Clearwater Revisited is a reincarnation project stemming from Creedence Clearwater Revival. You can find more information on the event here.
The Mousetrap will be hosting a human trafficking awareness event titled Traffic Jam on Friday. The event is hosting local bands Audiodacity, The Mainstays and 800 lb Gorilla. All proceeds will be going to Purchased, which is an organization based in Indianapolis that promotes awareness to youth though education and provides support to survivors of modern day slavery. Thrash metal band Black Tusk from GA will be at the 5th Quarter Lounge with The Well, The Mound Builders, Whiskey Supercharger, and Drude. You can find event information here. On Friday and Saturday, the Slippery Noodle Inn will have two shows for one cover. Friday night will include Alex Wilson Band and Gordon Bonham Blues Band. On Saturday, the Monster Energy Outbreak tour presents Issues with Crown the Empire, One Ok Rock and Night Verses at Old National Center. You can buy tickets for this event here. Sundays live music events include Kirk Franklin at the Old National Center. Kirk Franklin is a very well known gospel singer and songwriter. You can find tickets to the event here.
