The 2016 WGC-Cadillac Championship golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from March 3-6, 2016, on the TPC Blue Monster course at the Trump National Doral in the west Miami suburb of Doral, Florida. Here is a list of the top PGA golfers who are playing in the 2016 WGC-Cadillac Championship.
As one would expect, the field for the 2016 WGC-Cadillac Championship is excellent. Out of the top 50 golfers in the world the only three players are not playing this week. Those three players are #14 Jim Furyk, #34 Thongchai Jaidee and #49 Jaco Van Zyl.
Jim Furyk has not played in a tournament this season due to a lingering wrist injury that does not seem to want to heal. He just had another surgery on the wrist and is out for three more months.
Thongchai Jaidee and Jaco Van Zyl are both not listed among the field for the 2016 WGC-Cadillac Championship. Both are eligible to play. Jaco Van Zyl just won the 2016 Eye of Africa PGA Championship on the Sunshine Tour on February 28, 2016 which just moved him into 49th place on the World Rankings which made him eligible so maybe he will play.
The 2016 WGC-Cadillac Championship will be the first golf tournament this year in which all the top names in golf are playing. That includes Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose and any other top golfer you can think of besides Tiger Woods.
Bubba Watson (Northern Trust Open), Adam Scott (Honda Classic), Louis Oosthuizen (Perth International) and Marcus Fraser (Maybank Championship Malaysia) all come into this tournament red-hot as they have all won a tournament over the last two weeks. Other name golfers like Hideki Matsuyama, Brandt Snedeker, Jason Dufner, Charl Schwarzel, Danny Willett and Branden Grace have also won tournaments over the last month or so.
