The Cannery Music Hall, 12 Crane Street in Southbridge has rocker Michael Sweet, lead vocalist of Stryper on Thursday, February 4. This is an acoustic solo show. Michael Sweet sings rock and heavy metal like no other performer. Although this show will be a toned down version of what he is capable of doing, you’ll still see Sweet rockin it acoustically.
The Bull Run, Rt. 2A in Shirley has Gracie Curran and the High Falutin Band on Friday, February 5. Curran is the lead vocalist and the fun captain of the High Faluin Band whose home base is now Memphis. The band came together in Boston in 2010 and play blues and soul. Their debut album,”Proof of Love”, released in 2013, received critical acclaim, with airplay on Sirius XM and over 200 radio stations world wide. The Gracie Curran band earned a 2014 WC Handy Blues Music Award Nomination for Best New Artist, was nominated for a New England Music Award, as well as a two Boston Music Music Awards, winning the award for Blues Artist of the year in December 2014.
Rocking it at Rocco’s, 7 Short Street in Randolph is national recording artist, Michael Spaulding on Friday, February 6. Spaulding performs rock and pop original tunes and has been nominated for “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” in 2014 for Limelight Magazine and “Male Vocalist of the Year” in 2015. Mike Spaulding Music receives airplay on the most popular radio stations in the region including Kiss108, WAAF, WFNX, and others.
How about some country swagger with that Houston Bernard and his band at the Whiskey Barrel Bar, 27 Layfayette Square in Haverhill on Friday, February 6. Bernard is known as a country bad boy and is is a direct descendant of famous gunfighter George “Bittercreek” Newcomb, a member of the infamous Wild Bunch and a most-wanted man in the 1890s. There’s no cover charge and the band goes on at 9 p.m.
The Milton Art Center, 334 Edge Hill Road in Milton has “Art Igras” on Saturday, February 7. This is an art inspired jazz party with a silent auction, a scrumptious array of Louisiana inspired food and music with the jazz combo, Zip, Zap, and the Zops. You will feast on Jambalaya with shrimp, sausage, and chicken, MAC n Cheese, Mardi Gras Cheese and Salsa. Bid on silent auction items which will support community, art, and music in Milton.
Jasper Hill Cafe & Bistro, 770 Washington Street in Holliston has the Lois Greco Band on Saturday, February 7. Lois Greco, a gifted blues artist returns to Jasper Hill Cafe with her full band. She has a powerful, soulful voice and plays a smokin lead guitar. Reservations are recommended call: (774)233-0853.
Johnny D’s Uptown Restaurant & Music Club, 17 Holland Street in Somerville has Heart Attack Ack Ack Ack Ack Ack on Saturday, February 7. Joining then are Beatles tribute band, Afterfab, and Bikini Whale. Heart Attack 5 ack is a full band with two sax players, that play covers.
Afterfab, play the solo works of all four Beatles, and is the world’s only tribute to the solo years after the Beatles disbanded. AfterFab came together in 2012 and truly have found a unique niche in presenting the music of the Beatles.
Bikini Whale, think the B-52’s. This sic piece band is the ultimate B-52 experience with the look and sound. The band came together in 2011 and are from Boston.
The Full Sail, 47 Court Street in Playmouth has Cindy Daley and friends on Saturday, February 7. Daley is the recipient of the 2010 Boston Duo Blues Challenge Award and will be performing with special guests Mark Carvalho on guitar, Jeff Armstrong on drums, Chicky Deptula on bass.
