Are you in the mood for some great street tacos? There is a new street taco place in Frisco, Texas that is now serving up some of the most delicious tacos in the area. Leo’s Street Taco Co had its’ grand opening this past week, and did not disappoint taco fans from the area.

Located off of Preston Road just north of 121 on the right hand side service road, the location for this taco restaurant is where Freddy’s Custard, among many others have once stood. This location is considered a high turnover location, with over 5 restaurants making their debut and closing over the last 8 years. Perhaps Leo’s is the one that can break the curse. This past week marked their grand opening week with hundreds of taco lovers flocking to the location to have a taste of what Leo’s has to offer.

Set up diner style, patrons walk in and order at the counter, grab a number and a drink and have a seat. The tables are classic diner style, and there aren’t any booths. There are TV’s and some lovely decor inside the dining room for customers. With several other places in the area that offer street tacos, the most exciting thing about Leo’s is their drive through. None of the other local street taco vendors offer this, and it is a welcome addition. When in a hurry for lunch, which who isn’t with the usual 30 minutes, you can stop and grab some tacos for yourself or for the rest of the office.

Leo’s has several tacos on the menu, and boast of having “Authentic Mexican Tacos”. They offer pork, steak, chicken, shrimp, fish, and even a vegetarian taco. Their barbacoa taco is the overall favorite taco, and at under $2, locals can stock up on their favorites. Since the tortillas are made of corn, the tacos are gluten free, and diet friendly. One of the better things about these tacos is not just the great flavor or the freshness of the ingredients, it is the double stack thickness of the soft corn tortilla shell. It makes a world of difference when enjoying the taco, and it tastes handmade, and not store bought. Each taco comes with two salsas, their version of salsa verde, and a tomatillo salsa. As a salsa, the tomatillo is not too spicy, but it does have a little kick. Their verde salsa is much spicier, have a distinct jalapeno flavor.

The tacos are delicious, and their barbacoa taco is a must try for all taco afficianados. It is hoped that this restaurant will become a staple in Frisco where others have not had the muster. Leo’s Street Taco Co. brings a unique and tasty offering to the area with their unique taste, great price, and drive through convenience.
