One of the many PS4 and Xbox One launches titles that were available back in 2013 was LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and now we are only a few weeks away from its sequel debuting. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is the new iteration in the series and this one will be presenting gamers with a handful of new environments to superhero through.
LEGO Marvel’s Avengers officially launches for pretty much every platform known to mankind on Jan. 26, but it is looking to evolve on the joy and fun that was found in the first game. Manhattan was prominently featured in the first iteration of the game, as gamers who played Super Heroes will remember, and it’s back once more in Avengers.
“In the last Marvel game, we had the Manhattan hub, it was the same size. For this game, we’ve actually improved it, the lighting and textures, and we have packed even more content into it. It is a different experience, although it will look the same. There’s actually more content for you to explore and unlock,” TT Games’ Sam Delaney told GamingBoulevard.
If you’ve had the chance to take a look at some of the gameplay demoes that are out there, Manhattan does look incredible and certainly better than it did in 2013’s release. The ability for players to be able to switch from one Avenger to another, is a gameplay feature that will create some interesting opportunities for gamers to implement creativity and style.
TT Games has thought about how gamers traverse through the worlds of LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, there will be activities for them to consider participating in. Delaney talked about a new type of mission that gamers will encounter simply as they are walking or flying along.
“We have also added Crimes In Progress, so as you progress along minding you’re own business, there could potentially be a crime happening then and now. You can choose to stop it, but you don’t have to stop it, and if you do you are rewarded for doing so. Not only [Manhattan], we’ve added seven additional hubs. Those who liked [LEGO Marvel Super Heroes] will love this one as well,” Delaney said.
Yesterday, Warner Bros. announced some exclusive DLC that will be coming to the PS4 and PS3 versions of LEGO Marvel’s Avengers. The DLC will be inspired by the Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War (available at launch) and Marvel’s Ant-Man (available in the spring) films. Nine characters from Civil War will be playable, while 12 from Ant-Man will be playable.
Lego Marvel’s Avengers will arrive in less than two weeks on Jan. 26. The game will be available on the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita.
