The rumor mills in the NBA have been filled with talk lately that the LA Clippers might be looking to trade star forward Blake Griffin. One of the biggest rumors out there has the Clippers trading Griffin to the New York Knicks for Carmelo Anthony.
That trade makes a lot sense since the Clippers are looking to win now with Chris Paul, J.J. Reddick and DeAndre Jordan and adding veteran scorer Carmelo Anthony might get them over the hump to compete for a NBA Championship in 2016. On the other hand, the Knicks are looking to build for the future around rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis and Blake Griffin is five years younger than Carmelo Anthony is.
If the trade is going to happen it would probably be after the NBA determines what kind of punishment Blake Griffin will face for fighting with a Clippers assistant equipment manager. During the fight, Blake Griffin broke his hand which will delay his return to the lineup as he was already battling a torn quad which he had almost healed up from.
Could Blake Griffin actually be traded by the Clippers to the New York Knicks for Carmelo Anthony? It would some trade if it actually happens. Other trade rumors have Griffin going to the LA Lakers but the Lakers do not have a Carmelo Anthony type player to offer back in a trade.
