Over the weekend, The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade held a kickoff event for its annual walk event series, AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer, at Howl at the Moon in Midtown Manhattan. The kickoff additionally took place at Howl at the Moon locations in Houston, Boston, Chicago, and Hollywood. The event encouraged guests to push aside any doubts and connect with other 39ers in the fight against breast cancer. A couple of the women walking in the upcoming event series shared their inspiring stories and the kickoff event also offered tools for reaching team fundraising goals. Guests enjoyed cocktails, food, and performances by Howl at the Moon’s impressive house musicians.
Additionally, guests had the opportunity to take photos at an interactive photo booth and share who their 39 is for. There were also registration forms at the event for those who hadn’t registered yet and felt inspired to do so. As Kevin Honeycutt, President & CEO, Avon Breast Cancer Crusade states, “AVON 39 encourages walkers to prove their willpower by the miles they walk, and validate their impact through the dollars they raise.” It’s about raising awareness and getting that much closer to ending breast cancer. The 2016 season is open for registration with events taking place in Houston (April 23-24); Washington DC (April 1-May 1); Chicago (June 4-5); Boston (July 9-10); San Francisco (July 23-24); Santa Barbara (September 10-11); and New York (October 15-16).
