The Kentucky vs. Arkansas live stream online and televised 2016 NCAA basketball game highlights a Thursday night schedule with five of the Top 25 teams in action. For the No. 23 Wildcats, it seems like a must win game in order to possibly cling to their spot on the rankings. Right now, they’ve lost four games and are in danger of missing the tournament if they string together more losses. Arkansas seems like a team on the outside looking in, but some quality wins couldn’t hurt their resume, starting with an upset over a ranked conference foe. The 2016 NCAA live streaming and televised basketball coverage comes via ESPN networks on Thursday night.
On Jan. 20 the NCAA.com website reported that Kentucky has fallen all the way to the No. 23 spot in the Top 25 after previously being ranked No. 1 back on Nov. 23 of this season. Some analysts feel it could be due to the lack of interior defense and rebounding that prospect Skal Labissiere was expected to bring to the lineup. He’s averaging 7.7 points and 3.2 boards per game, but is getting clearly outmuscled on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. He recently noted that practices against the other Kentucky big men is helping to boost his confidence. Luckily for the Wildcats, their trio of guards is showing promise, with Tyler Ulis leading the way with 14.4 points and 6.1 assists per game. Freshman guard Jamal Murray is leading the team with 17.8 a game, while fellow freshman Isaiah Briscoe is chipping in over 10 points a contest.
For Arkansas, the season has gone 9-8 (3-2 SEC) so far, with the team just over .500 and ironically just below Kentucky in the conference standings. Above the Razorbacks and Arkansas are the LSU Tigers, Florida Gators, South Carolina Gamecocks and Texas A&M Aggies who have a perfect 6-0 mark in the SEC so far. The Razorbacks are currently led by guard Anthony Bell’s 17.1 points per game, while guard Jabril Durham dishes out 7.2 assists. The team ranks No. 15 when it comes to total points scored per game (83.8) and No. 13 for assists per game at 17.8, showing their unselfish nature. Arkansas is coming off a two-point loss at the LSU Tigers this past week, due to a late put-back basket. Nonetheless, the performance shows this team is capable of competing with the SEC’s better teams this season.
Vegas odds makers first listed Kentucky as 1-1/2 point underdogs on the spread, but the line has since moved to two points in their favor. The over/under points total is set around 152 points for the complete game. On the moneyline, the Wildcats are -140 favorites with Arkansas priced as +120 underdogs. Both teams are on the futures list, with Kentucky at 18 to 1 odds to win the National Championship and the Razorbacks a longshot with 1000 to 1 odds right now at Vegas Insider.
