After 6 months of preparation, Kate Winslet’s wax figure was unveiled just in time for her Oscar nomination in Hollywood this week. The likeness of the wax figure to the actress is unbelievable down to every detail, including her hands which made the figure look even more life like. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Awards Media Center for press outlets from all over the world covering the Oscars which take place today. Kate Winslet, is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, for her movie Steve Jobs.
Kate’s wax figure is dressed in a red replica of the gown she wore in 2012 to the 3D theatrical release of the Titanic, which commemorated the 100th anniversary of this tragic, yet historic sinking. The premiere which was held at The Royal Albert Hall in London is where Kate wore a navy blue version of the gown her wax figure is dressed in. Madame Tussaud’s in Hollywood which was established in 2009, is one of the first stops I would recommend when checking out the sights of Los Angeles. It features over 120 wax figures of many famous personalities including; Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift. Kobe Bryant, Elizabeth Taylor, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Beyonce’ and many more. Consisting of 3 different levels, this worldwide attraction is situated right in the heart of Hollywood blvd and also boasts amazing views of the one of the busiest streets and places in the world.
Kate Winslet’s was figure was the first to be unveiled for 2016 at Madame Tussaud’s, so naturally, it was a very exciting event for the media as well as her fans who now have the chance to take a selfie with the wax version of their favorite actress. The staff are always helpful when visiting this awesome attraction and you are instantly given a burst of energy when you enter the museum with so many famous faces gracing you everywhere you turn. I never get tired of this place and also love the educational videos you can choose to watch on how the wax figures are prepared and sculpted. This place never fails to disappoint! Thank you to the wonderful staff at Madame Tussaud’s, The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, TCL Chinese Theatres and Rogers & Cowan for this wonderful opportunity.
