Josh Duggar has been in hiding in sex-addiction rehab since August 2015 as his numerous sex scandals generate headlines every day. It’s unclear why Josh has been in rehab for six months, when the usual first-time stay (for drug or sex addiction) is 30 or 90 days.
It’s likely Josh is staying in rehab for privacy as the $500,000 sexual battery lawsuit filed by porn star Danica Dillon unfolds. But Josh will be forced to leave the Christian rehab center he has been staying at in Rockford, Illinois, to attend a settlement conference scheduled for March 31 in Philadelphia, as Examiner previously reported.
While Josh has insisted he will not settle, it’s more likely than not he will settle to avoid an ugly, public trial.
If the case is not settled, it will go to jury trial on May 25. Trial attorneys told the Examiner the chance of this going to trial is close to 0%.
Danica, who claims Duggar choked and nearly raped her during their two “rough sex” sessions in March and April 2015, claims she now suffers from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) as a result of the alleged sexual battery.
In her lawsuit, Danica said Josh first approached her when she was working at a Pennsylvania strip club in March 2015. “He walked in and was like, ‘I’ve been a fan of your work,” Danica recounted. “You’re so beautiful! I love you!”
Dillon accompanied Josh to a hotel, where he immediately became violent and abusive. “He walked in and instantly was like, ‘Get undressed. Get on your knees,'” Danica recalled. “He grabbed my head and pulled me on to him and was doing a forced bl*wjob. I couldn’t breathe.”
Dillon said Josh called her a “slut,” choked her during sex and repeatedly told her she’s worthless.
He picked me up and threw me down on the bed and bent me over and was pulling my hair, calling me a dirty slut.
When I pushed him away, he pinched my lips together and spit on my face.
While Dillon has demanded $500,000, it’s likely she will settle for a much smaller amount since she has the burden of proof. So far, Duggar’s attorneys say Danica has produced no evidence (in the form of medical bills) to substantiate her claims.
Josh has denied ever meeting Danica, and claims to have taxi receipts and airplane tickets proving he was not in Pennsylvania on the dates Dillon claimed they had sex. But Danica says she has photos of Josh she took during sex.
Meanwhile, the lone suffering figure in all this is Anna Duggar, who’s reportedly pregnant after having sex with Josh during her Dec. 27 rehab visit. Anna has been toiling away, homeschooling her four children on her own, as public sympathy toward her grows, Celebrity Health & Fitness reported.
The Duggar family is reportedly shooting another TV special after the ratings bonanza of “Jill & Jessa: Counting On.” Josh’s lawsuit and Anna’s rumored pregnancy have increased public interest in the Duggars, so another TV special is almost certain.
Of course, Jim Bob and Michelle can’t wait for another TV show because the Duggars are going broke after “19 Kids and Counting” was canceled in May 2015 amid Josh’s child molestation scandals. The Duggars earned $25,000 to $45,000 per episode of “19 Kids and Counting.”
The Duggars also reportedly lost over $25 million in 2015 due to lost book deals, endorsements and speaking engagements. Still, Jim Bob maintains a private jet even though he doesn’t have a job.
