The name Duggar has come to be synonymous with family drama. Okay, to be fair all families have dirty laundry, but the super-size Duggar clan has super-sized reality show worthy drama by the basket full. On the Duggar Family blog, fans learned on Jan. 21, that child #7, Joseph Duggar quit school. And pregnant Anna Duggar may have violated sex rehab terms of her husband Josh Duggar. Or, to be fair, they violated the rules together, doing what it took to get Anna Duggar pregnant on a recent conjugal visit. There are some reports that Josh Duggar ditched sex rehab after completing only four months of the required six-month program. Dad Jim Bob Duggar was seen busting Josh out of therapy early in November, too. But then the Duggar family has never been much for following rules, especially those they demand others to follow.
So you didn’t know Anna Duggar was pregnant again? Yep, this makes baby number five for the single (or might as well be with dad in rehab) mom. And the child was conceived while dad Josh Duggar was in a lockdown sex rehab clinic after cheating on his wife with porn star Danica Dillon and admitting to sexually abusing five girls including his sisters as a teen. Well, Josh Duggar didn’t exactly admit the infidelity–it leaked out when his name showed up on the Ashley Madison cyber-affair site and he kinda confirmed it. His porn star mistress Danica Dillon is suing Josh Duggar for half a million and the judge is taking the lawsuit seriously. So now might not be the best time to be baby-making.
Anna Duggar has vowed to stand by her man, but it sounds more like codependency. Getting pregnant by a sex addict while he’s in therapy is taking support too far. Is pregnancy a ploy to keep her husband at home, like her remarkable weight loss? As a family game plan, having a baby when things are rocky could lead to disastrous consequences. Anna Duggar sees her pregnancy as proof that God validates her union with Josh Duggar. But the only thing it proves is that sex makes babies. Some fundamentalist Christians, like the Duggar family, take it as a challenge from God to have as many kids as possible. They believe that if you’re in a bad spot, like if one spouse was caught in adultery, the way to fix it is to get pregnant. They call it a test of faith. If you question that wisdom, you’re not trusting God.
But with an unemployed dad in rehab, another mouth to feed could break, not make the marriage. It certainly must have broken the rules of sex rehab. If you’re in a clinic for substance abuse, even a religious one, you are not allowed to have drugs or alcohol. So if you’re in sex rehab for sex addiction, sexual intercourse is probably forbidden, not to mention conjugal visits! Most accredited programs keep you in lockdown till there has been demonstration of recovery, which is unrealistic after only a few months.
But then reality isn’t something the Duggar family deals much in, despite having been reality TV stars. Neither kids nor parents have much in the way of marketable skills, yet they live pretty well. They preach how LGBT shouldn’t have homes and jobs, yet few Duggars have real jobs and you have to wonder how they keep their homes after their reality TV show “19 Kids and Counting” got pulled. Now, one of the few that could get a real job, Joseph Duggar, has dropped out of school after only one year. His parents are calling it college “completion” but what programs are complete after one year? Technical or medical certification, maybe, but this was a Bible school, with few or no programs that might fit Joseph Duggar for work after just one year. The Duggar parents says Joseph Duggar is following the family footsteps in the realty business. Hopefully, Joseph Duggar won’t follow other family footsteps. The most surprising issue is that after signally failing their kids, the Duggar family continues to preach to others how to raise theirs.
