Congratulations go out to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend on the birth of their daughter! CBC News, April 18, 2016, reported Chrissy gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
Chrissy alerted her followers of her special news on her Instagram page. She wrote, “She’s here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy.”
Luna Simone Stephens weighed 6 pounds and 11 ounces and she was born on April 14, although the exact time has not been released.
“Our new love is here!” John Legend whose real name is John Roger Stephens tweeted. “Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn’t be happier!” Chrissy later posted another message, but this time, it was about her husband John. “To everyone asking, John is healing perfectly.”
Chrissy plans to have many, more children while she is in her 30s. She said she has visions of all her children gathered around the table over the holidays and coming together as a family once a week. If she does not get pregnant in the usual way, she said that they have some embryos on hold just waiting to be born.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have a few concerns about their daughter even before she was born. People are telling them how cute babies are and that gave John cause for worry. During an interview with Los Angeles radio station, Real 92.3 FM on “Big Boys Neighborhood,” John said, “Chrissy says it’s a lot of pressure though because everybody says she’s going to be so cute—what if she’s not that cute? Every baby is not that cute. Let’s just hope that she’s healthy and that’s all we are focused on.”
John had the right idea by concentrating on the baby’s health as the most important matter of this pregnancy and birth. As long as the baby is healthy, then nothing else matters.
Because of John’s singing career, he is always on the road traveling and that can be hard on a family too. Chrissy addressed this concern by sharing her plans to take their daughter along everywhere they go.
Chrissy Teigen said, “I like a little chaos in life. Then baby came into our world, and we were like, ‘That’s cool but let’s do more!'” Not to mention, she said, “I actually have more energy now than before I was pregnant. “ I want to get her into traveling really young. As soon as someone even steps on the plane with a baby you’re like, ‘Ughhh! I feel bad for them!’ And that’s going to be us now.”
John and Chrissy were married in 2013, and when the couple announced in October that Chrissy was expecting, she also revealed about her struggles to become pregnant. When the regular way did not work, she underwent IVF treatments just so she could have a baby. They even picked out the sex of their child and they specifically chose a girl.
“I’ve made this decision. Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.'”
Instead of people wishing Chrissy Teigen and John Legend congratulations on the news, this brought a ton of backlash against them from their specifically choosing a female embryo. Many of the comments went on gender identity once the baby is born.
Chrissy angrily tweeted this reply back to them, “What in the…she can do whatever she wants. People really reaching for outrage here.”
She added, “Mentions. In. shambles. Lol. ‘what…what…what if….your GIRL wants to…be……chem trails…..and cis….and….vegan…and….other buzzwords…’ stop looking HERE for s–t to be mad at. There are so many other things that deserve your outrage.”
