Jim Brickman is a prolific songwriter, pianist and overall entertainer known for his adult contemporary hits. Having worked with the likes of artists such as Lady Antebellum, Johnny Mathis, Martina McBride and Olivia Newton-John, Brick will be joined on stage with Philippine diva Kuh Ledesma for a special concert dubbed “Heart and Soul.”
The Grammy nominated artist has been embraced by Filipinos around the world for his emotional and heartwarming compositions that gave “Heart and Soul” concert producer Vic Perez the idea to bring Kuh Ledesma together with Brickman this coming Sunday at The Grove in Anaheim.
Kuh Ledesma explains how the “Heart and Soul” concert idea came to be, “Vic Perez and I spoke about doing a show with Jim Brickman. I like the music of Jim. I’m excited to do a duet with him and I heard that The Platters will be in the show. It’s an exciting show.”
Jim is so excited to be sharing the stage with Kuh Ledesma. “She’s great. What I always love about some of the great Filipino singers is that it’s almost like they don’t even need to rehearse or anything. They just know the song and we get together. We’ve worked together for all these years and there is this chemistry,” said Brickman.
Brickman has worked with the Philippines best including Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez and Regine Velasquez.
He also added, “It’s going to be spectacular. I’m going to doing all the hits. “The Gift,” “Valentine,” “Your Love” and “Simple Things.” We almost have too many songs to perform in the show.”
Even if he says there may be too many songs to perform in the show, Jim encourages attendees to post song requests on his Facebook page or tweet him your requests. “If you’re coming, let me know on my socials @jimbrickman. You can tweet a song request and let me know why you want to hear it. The same on Facebook or use the hashtag #jimbrickmanlive or #thegroveofanaheim or just put I’m coming to the show and then we’ll dedicate it to you.”
Aside from performing with Kuh, asked what artist of the day Jim Brickman would like to work with, he said, “I mean , I love Bruno Mars. I absolutely think he’s an amazing singer and songwriter and I love anyone who writes their own songs. I’m a very big fan of Taylor Swift. ‘I’ve seen the rise of her from the very beginning when I saw her start when she was fifteen. I admire that. Sara Bareilles I think she is just so oozing talent as a singer songwriter. So I love Sara Bareilles. I am a fan of songs like from Maroon 5 and things like that. I don’t think of those people in the same way even though I love the songs, but you can tell that Bruno Mars just has a great voice that he can be singing the alphabet and it would still sound cool.”
It definitely will be a cool night with Jim Brickman and Kuh Ledesma along with The Platters as they perform at The Grove in Anaheim this coming Sunday, March 20.
