Jesse James made a headline appearance for the first time in a long time after he endorsed Donald Trump on social media last week. James spoke with the “Real Story” host Gretchen Carlson on Fox News live Tuesday, January 26 about his endorsement for Trump.
James was quick to admit that he knows what it is like to be called a racist in the media, much like what Trump has gone through because he battles to keep the U.S. safe at the borders. Carlson gave James praise for not only backing a candidate, but for having a list of reasons as to why he feels Trump would make a good president.
Jesse James also warned the public that they are making those racist assumptions about Trump on soundbites that are taken out of context. He said if you really want to know what Donald Trump has to say, listen to his complete statement. Forget about the soundbites the media is feeding you.
James conveyed that if people had listened to everything Trump said about keeping the borders safe, the snide remarks calling Trump a racist could have been avoided. As soon as James took to his Facebook to endorse Trump last week, people had plenty of comments to share.
Almost 15,000 comments appear on his Facebook page alone on the endorsement. So it is apparent that folks are still following the man who rose to fame as an expert mechanic creating the motorcycles people could only dream about owning.
Don’t forget James did a gig on Donald Trump’s “Apprentice” show only to hear “you’re fired.” Although that didn’t mare his thoughts on Trump, he feels he’ll make a president that is honest above everything else. James tells Carlson on Fox today, “If I think I’m going to stick my neck out for someone I want to make sure they’re the right guy and he’s definitely the right guy,” he said.
James continued saying, “The country’s at a point of critical mass. I lived in California for most of my life, and we can’t afford to pay for that many people coming into this country. Our tax dollars aren’t enough. And the country’s going to start sliding downhill, as it already is.”
James also said that it is “something special” to be a U.S. citizen and he believes that the people who have followed the legal path to citizenship understand that today. “No one should be able to walk across the border and get it for nothing,” James said. (Is he talking about a cover charge for immigrants?) James was serious in backing Trump, who wants immigrants to follow the legal path into this country. First Trump would like to see a vetting process that works.
Sure, Jesse James has been a controversial figure in the news for the past several years and he’s made mistakes that are made daily by tons of folks. His endorsement of Trump comes to the attention of a younger crowd and that can only be a good thing for Trump.
