Jared Fogle, the former spokesperson for Subway Sandwiches and convicted pedophile, was beaten up by a fellow inmate, according to Fox News, March 16, 2016. Many believe that this is Karma and they feel that justice is being served within the jail.
Jared Fogle was sentenced to 16 years in jail and he is serving time at Colorado’s Englewood Federal Correctional Institution. It seems that he has made an enemy because Steven Nigg tackled Jared and punched him in the face. Steven is currently serving time on guns charges and according to TMZ, he gave Jared a swollen face, bloody nose, and scratches on his neck.
Jared apparently did not have the time or the strength to retaliate because 60-year-old Steven walked away without harm, except for one small scratch he obtained to the hand that struck Jared. Prison officials put Steven in solitary confinement as punishment for this attack on Jared.
Steven Nigg’s family told TMZ the reason behind his attack on Jared and they said he is furious because there are so many child sex predators being held in this low-security jailhouse. Jared just happened to be the latest and Steven took out some of his frustrations on him.
Steven is up for parole in 2024, but there is no word on whether this incident will work against him and delay his chances. Jared was convicted of conspiracy to receive child pornography and traveling to have sex with a minor and he was sentenced to serve 15 years in jail. He is scheduled for release in 2029. Jared was ordered to pay $1.4 million restitution.
From 1976 to 1990, Steven served time in jail when he and a friend robbed two convenience stores, a motel desk clerk in Maricopa County and a gas station. After that, he changed his life around when he moved back to the town his dad lived in Wausau, Wisconsin. Steve got married and he held a job at a consignment store.
When Steven Nigg’s dad passed away, things changed for him and the outcome was not good. “In a somewhat cruel twist of fate, the estate included over 120 firearms,” according to court documents. Mr. Nigg was arrested because he allegedly sold two guns to a private investigator that his stepmother had hired.
Judge William C. Griesbach wrote. “We have some sympathy for Mr. Nigg, whose dangerous past caught up with him decades after he had seemingly done some work to rehabilitate himself. None the less, the (Armed Career Criminal Act) is the law of the land.”
Steven Nigg attacked Jared Fogle on January 29 and many do not feel sorry about his being beat up at all, because they put it down as Karma. Jared is reportedly under so much stress, that he gained 30 pounds while being in jail. Do you think Steven Nigg did right in beating Jared Fogle up? Post why or why not in the comments section below.
