Davey Suicide is an industrial rock band based out of Los Angeles, CA. A blanket of mystery covers the band as little is known about them. Dark and mysterious is this aura of this industrial gutter grit band. This LA band intends to keep what is known about them to a minimum. The bands bio begins with a quote that sheds some light on who these guys are.
“Suicide” is a constant reminder that unless we kill ourselves, there’s no ceiling for what we are capable of.“
In 2012, Davey Suicide hit the underground industrial rock scene with a forceful EP release entitled Put Our Trust in Suicide. The full length self titled album was released one year later in 2013. This release included the original songs “Generation F*ck Star” and “Kids of America”. On May 1st, 2012 the video for “Generation F*ck Star” premiered exclusively on Blank TV and generated over two hundred thousand views.
Worldwide Suicide is the bands most current album release. “Imperfect” is the latest single from that release. On April 15th, 2016, the Imperfect music video that was directed and produced by MichellexStar, debuted. This very well produced video is unique and dark just like Davey Suicide. The video for Imperfect features model Nikiski Noir.

Can you tell me about the kind of coffee that you like?
Yeah, so I like to drink cold brew coffee. I am actually particular about the types of cold brew that I drink. I am a coffee fanatic, my fans know this, everyone who knows me. So, there is two things I do. I either get Organic Fair Trade Coffee, the beans and I grind it up with cold water and I put it in the refrigerator. I leave it overnight in a french press. Then, you know plunge it through in the morning. It is delicious. Or there is Groundwork organic coffee that you can get from whole foods. It comes in a jug, you can do that with almond milk. The two best coffees in the world that I have found.
Do you have your own brand of coffee?
No, that is a good idea. I have to source my own coffee beans from Columbia or something.
You could see if they could sponsor your band (Davey Suicide). So how long have you been playing with Davey Suicide?
So, like five years I have been with the band, maybe close to pushing on six. I had not been touring with them for three years, cause I had a couple injuries. So, I was at home working on the two records, World Wide Suicide and the new one. So, finally I am back on the road.
What do you play in Davey Suicide?
So, I do keys in the band or programming. I call myself the audio terrorist, because it’s not like I am up there doing any virtuoso piano. I am kinda like triggering the samples and stuff and the programming. I do a lot of back up vocals. For the record me and Davey, we were very closely writing everything. Our writing process is anywhere from, I’ll write an entire idea and send it to Davey. He will then rearrange it with lyrics. Then, we will bring Niko and the other guys in and we will step up the instruments. Or maybe Niko will come up with a riff and we will work around that. Or sometimes Davey sends full song ideas he has done in a garage band and we sort of flesh it out with the music and stuff. So, we all kind of write everything a little bit. It is a really cool process to work with them.
Sounds like it. You guys all bring a different variety to the table. Where do you draw your inspiration when you write your music?
That is a good question, really from all over. Sometimes, we will get random ideas with joking around. In fact one of the, I think the single that we are going to lead with on the record, was actually a joke. It just started out as a funny inside joke and before you knew it grew. It grew into, you know this is actually a really good idea. We should start taking this seriously and it kind of evolved into something everyone is really proud of.
What bands inspire Davey Suicide to be so epic?
We have our favorite bands that obviously we love and respect. Everybody knows we love Zombie, Manson, Nine Inch Nails, you know anybody in that industrial rock genre. They have just redefined the wheel so many times. They are amazing inspirations, but yeah we draw from all over.
Do you rap?
Umm no. We do have a rap album for the bass player Derek Obsura, that we are going to call The Strange Man. It is going to be a hip-hop album, with hits like They call him strange and Toboggan style.
Are you going to play keys on it or do any mixing?
I am going to produce it, definitely. We are going to make him a billboard chart pop star.
Where do you guys record your stuff do you have your own studio?
So, yeah, I have a small home studio that I am growing and it is getting better each round. But, we do pretty much all of the pre-production there. Then, we will outsource, the way we did it before, we would out source the mixing. So we would send it out and they would revamp the guitars and make the sound bigger. For this record, we actually brought in a co-producer, Charles Massabo. from LA. He co-produced it and did an amazing job. He also did the new Cry Venom, which is the guitarist side project. It is a metal band that is like Japanese hair metal. It is an anime inspired album.
That is cool. I don’t know what else I have. So, thank you very much for taking the time to chat with me.
It is cool. No problem.
